If the summer of 2015 hasn’t already been a raging hot affair, Best Years now arrives onto the scene ready to fire up the dog days of August and beyond with their triumphant second EP. Entitled Drop Out and featuring three inspiring pop anthems, Best Years is sure to break out in a big and glorious way above and beyond their Manchester, UK home base. Admirers of The Wonder Years and The Starting Line are destined to discover a brand new favorite when encountering the vibrant tunes Best Years has to offer the world at large.

Drop Out opens with the dazzling refrains of Back Then, demonstrating at once Best Years’ penchant for unleashing a wildly infectious song that will remain spinning in your head for ages! Singing about “the times we’ve shared,” with a fierce sense of conviction, this is truly pop punk at its very best recalling the glory days of Yellowcard. Overrated then emerges through the speakers with the vocals conveying a mighty sense of urgency, ringing through spiraling melodies that will captivate the sense of pop punk fans everywhere. And then closing out the EP way too soon is the dynamic Built To Last, with its swirling guitars and passionate vocals rendering this one an absolute standout.

Best Years possesses a membership clearly passionate about their art, and the enthusiasm exuding throughout the EP is wondrously contagious. Ed Lawson and James Hunt deliver a massive wall of joyful sound on dueling guitars while bassist Josh Holland and drummer Josh Berzins make for a tremendously persuasive rhythm section. Joel Plews is the classic pop punk front man, whose heartfelt yet powerful vocals send the material into the stratosphere. Here’s hoping we see Best Years tour in the States sometime soon. It would be terrific to see a band like Best Years tearing it up on a Vans Warped Tour stage next summer – in the meantime check into what Best Years has to offer, and catch up with a rising star ready to set your world on fire now!
