The iconic Orange County music scene is very much alive and well, with bands such as Speaking The King’s ready to break it on out into the vast and royal halls of the big leagues. Signing to Nuclear Blast as 2012 was spinning to its conclusion, Speaking The King’s has finally unveiled their debut full length release – and judging by the 10 selections heard within the revolving Carousel, this recording was certainly well worth the wait!  With a dazzling mixture of post hardcore and pop punk, you’ll be wanting to spin these rock and roll anthems time and again.

Carousel whirls into high orbit with the vibrant sounds of Breathe, instantly hooking the listener in with its epic vocals and spiraling melodies and breakdowns.  Choke then emerges, demonstrating Speaking The King’s knack for writing a wildly infectious pop song filled with passion and conviction.   Combining heavy nu-metal guitars and a post hardcore explosion of sound, Caught In The Middle is sure to inspire rabid slam pit when performed live. The killer cuts just keep on crashing through, with songs such as Motion Sickness and Worthless leaving a wondrously indelible impression.

City Lights is a gigantic auditory adventure, with its “set sail and let the wind carry me” reflections and gang vocals rendering this one a vibrant standout. And ending the ride on the Carousel with a potent one-two punch, The Way cuts into your emotional core while Close To Impossible leaves you wanting to take on the great big world with its sweeping melodies and exhilarating lyrics.

Bobby Burap sings his heart out, bringing a mesmerizing depth to the lyrics that is stunning to behold. Mike Entin and Justin Bock are sensational on dueling guitars while drummer Will Peacock send you into a supremely frenzied groove.  This monarchy of musicians is destined to rock your world and leave you wanting a whole lot more.  Recorded with flair and imagination by Steve Evetts (whose own credits include everyone from Sepultura to The Cure and beyond), Carousel by Speaking The King’s is an emotional wild ride filled with excitement and intrigue. Expect to hear a lot more about this massively talented OC collective in the months ahead.
