SUMMERTIME DROPOUTS TEAM UP WITH COLOR DASH TO RAISE MONEY FOR SUICIDE PREVENTION AWARENESS

(Nashville, Tenn.) – Minneapolis-based Pop Punk band Summertime Dropouts has teamed up with Color Dash, a charity organization promoting 5K color run events to raise money for the production of a film dealing with suicide prevention. Additional proceeds are also being reinvested back into the local communities where the events take place. Positioned as more than just a charity run, Color Dash partners with bands, DJ’s and local vendors to create community-based social events offering fun for the whole family. The band will be joining up with Color Dash on specific event dates through the month of October and will perform before crowds ranging from 500 in smaller communities all the way up to 3,000 people or more in larger metropolitan areas.

Color Dash founder Hamid Torabpour was introduced to the band by a friend and immediately reached out to determine if they would be interested in performing when their schedule allowed. Hamid states, “They should be on the Warped Tour. I feel so blessed to have such a talented group entertaining at my events.” David C. Coleman, President of Voluminous Records adds, “We thought this was a great opportunity for the band to align with an important cause that has tragically impacted so many families across the country and throughout the world.”

Matching youthful lyrics revolving around summertime flings, beach daydreams and the girl next door with thick, melodic choruses and highly energetic pop punk sensibilities, the band is poised for a major breakthrough. After creating a splash with the video for their first single “Full Time Cutie” from the full-length album Rewind, Summertime Dropouts continue to establish themselves as a dynamic live act and fan favorite. The video performed at a level comparable to more well-established acts like Doomtree and Good Old War, and could be seen on broadcast channels ranging from Much Music in Canada to MTV Latin America. The video was also pervasive online and through syndication to destinations like Universal Studios in Orlando, Foot Locker stores, Gold’s Gym locations and beyond. The band will be filming an official video in July for the second single “1999” and will engage both radio and video promotional campaigns in support of the song.
