Close to Home will hit the road this summer as part of the high profile 2012 Scream Like You Mean It Tour alongside Attack Attack!, We Came As Romans, The Acacia Strain amongst many other bands. The tour kicks off July 7th in Worcetser, MA and wraps on August 10th in Allentown, PA (tour dates below).
Cincinnati based Close to Home formed in 2005 with a shared passion and dream. Calling themselves Close to Home, which reflected their desire to write about real issues that affect everyday life (and also happened to be a Get Up Kids song that Wells loved). The original line up was put to the test as they suffered a tragic loss in 2006 when bassist Brad Andress passed from his battle with Cancer. In late 2011 lead vocalist Nick Stiens departed the band.
The current lineup is Andrew DeNeef (Vocals), Josh Wells (Guitar), JJ Cooper (Guitar), Derek Foust (Bass) and Travis Hartman (Drums).
CTH has released three studio EPs, one live EP and two full length albums to date- One Chance, One Time EP (Self-released, 2006), Standby EP (Self-released, April, 2008), Let It Be Known EP (Self-released, October, 2009). The band’s live EP, Legends Live On was self-released in 2008 and was the last live show that bassist Brad Andress played before his death. In 2010 CTH signed with Artery Recordings/Razor & Tie and in 2011 released their first full length label album, Never Back Down. The album was produced by Tom Denney (formerly of A Day To Remember) and co-producer Eric Tuffendsam. The album combined elements of heavy post-hardcore and metalcore with pop punk, leading to a melodic hardcore sound. Close to Home has toured across the United States with bands such as Silverstein, Dance Gavin Dance, I Set My Friends On Fire, In Fear and Faith and We Came as Romans as well as on The Vans Warped Tour.
Artery Recordings is the label home to The Artery Foundation and an imprint of independent label Razor & Tie, whose roster now includes For The Fallen Dreams, Chelsea Grin, Vanna, Attila, I Declare War, A Bullet For Pretty Boy, Close To Home, Adestria, The Crimson Armada and Casino Madrid. A management company since 2004, The Artery Foundation has a knack for finding diamonds in the rough and nurturing them into worldwide prominence. Some of their recent artists flooding the Billboard charts have included Top 40 releases with The Devil Wears Prada and Attack Attack!, Top 100 releases with Alesana and Breathe Carolina and additional artists such as Asking Alexandria, Jonny Craig and Dance Gavin Dance.
