DEUCE JOINS ‘FIGHT TO UNITE TOUR’ BEGINNING APRIL 5

Former Hollywood Undead Frontman to Release Nine Lives Globally on April 24, 2012

First Single “America” Up in Sales

Los Angeles, CA – Co-founder and former frontman of Hollywood Undead, Deuce, has been announced as part of the line up on the Fight to Unite Tour, which begins on April, 5 in Mesa, AZ (see full list of dates below). The US trek runs through the highly anticipated global release of Deuce’s debut solo album, Nine Lives (Five Seven Music) on April 24 and continues through the beginning of May. Before any radio airplay and although the tour doesn’t start for another 6 weeks, the album’s lead single “America” has seen unusually impressive growth in sales from week to week since its release on iTunes (http://itunes.apple.com/us/album/america-single/id491013027) and has been added early to Sirius XM’s Octone and Faction as well as Music Choice. Last week, the single sales increased 31%, which is the second week in a row showing an increase of over 30%. “It’s really gratifying to see my fans reacting to ‘America’ and to hear their feedback about how it reminds them of what I did on Swan Songs. I feel like this song definitely represents what’s to come on Nine Lives and I’m looking forward to killing the new stuff live on this upcoming tour,” says Deuce.

Fans have been passionately speaking out online about Deuce’s new music and his exit from Hollywood Undead. Fan Kyle Kitchen stated on Hollywood Undead’s website, “‘America‘ is an awesome song. It defines rap-rock and should’ve been an HU song for the 2nd album with Deuce. His best songs are the ones like these, ‘Gravestone,’ ‘Walk Alone,’ ‘America,’ ‘The One,’ ‘Breaking Through,’ ‘Sometimes.’ Nine Lives baby.” Hollywood Undead recently announced an attempt to make their next album sound more like Swan Songs, which was written and produced solely by Deuce. In response to that statement, HU fan Scrubthilin said, “Swan Songs was Deuce era-HU at its peak. The band had sole creative control because the record was essentially done when they came to Octone. American Tragedy was, admittedly, heavily influenced by the record label.”

In a recent interview with Gibson.com, Deuce talks about re-gaining his creative freedom on Nine Lives, the fans’ reactions, his contribution to Hollywood Undead and his process for songwriting. Gibson states, “Deuce knows how to write a fist-pumping hit song. After all, the Los Angeles-based musician was the lead singer, songwriter and producer of Hollywood Undead’s 2008 debut, Swan Songs, which sold a sky-high 800,000 copies worldwide.” To read the full interview, please visit http://www.gibson.com/en-us/Lifestyle/Features/deuce-interview-0223-2012/.

Deuce is a lyricist, songwriter, producer and knows-no-boundaries singer/rapper hailing from Los Angeles, CA. As the co-founder, former lead singer and main songwriter/producer for Hollywood Undead, Deuce emerged as the creative force that led the band to staggering albums sales of their debut, Swan Songs, which also reached #1 on the Alternative, Hard Rock and Rock album charts. Deuce is known for his signature masks and ability to jumpstart any party with his often raunchy and vulgar lyrics. Since his departure with Hollywood Undead in 2010, Deuce has performed in front of thousands at 2011’s Epicenter and has been gearing up for the release of Nine Lives.
