The Spiraling Sounds of Dizzylilacs

The Spiraling Sounds of Dizzylilacs

Dizzylilacs present their own thrilling brand of alternative rock, unveiling superbly infectious melodies you’ll want to revisit time and again.  Based out of the thriving Los Angeles music scene, Dizzylilacs band members Mark V. Hoagland (lead vocals / bass, Paul P. Hoagland  (drums), and Mike Wendland (guitars) have opened for the likes of ABC and Berlin – and will be supporting Trapt at The Whisky on February 2nd, 2019!  Let’s now discover the truly spiraling sounds of Dizzylilacs

Introduce yourself. tell me what you do in Dizzylilacs, and how long the band has been together.
Dizzylilacs are from the Los Angeles area. The local music scene here can be very tough. L.A. is a big place and there are a lot of aspiring bands. Biggest problem we see is bands only promoting on the Internet. Bands need to hustle and physically promote their music/shows rather than relying on the Internet alone. It builds a better relationship with their fans.

Is there an overall story of concept behind the lyrics to the single Hazel?
The single Hazel is about our general life experiences through our eyes. Living, learning and realizing how trivial and ridiculous things actually can be, then learning everything was better then you thought.

Select another Dizzylilacs song and what inspired the lyrics.
Another song would have to be our first single off of Make Like New called And Security. We chose this song because we thought it was a song that everyone could relate too. Dealing with everyday relationships and the insecurities they can bring out.

What could one expect from a live Dizzylilacs show?
You can expect an energetic, tight and mesmerizing set of some new original music.

What are you looking forward to the most about your upcoming show with Trapt at The Whisky?
We are looking forward to playing with a great band with great music and a chance for new people to hear us. It’s going to be a great night

What was the experience like opening for ABC and Berlin, and did you get to meet or hang out with them at all?
There wasn’t too much time for socializing. However, the short time we did have to mingle, we found both bands to be very down to earth, professional and fun to work with. It was a positive experience.

If Dizzylilacs could open for any band either now or from the past, who would it be and why?
We’d have to say Foo Fighters. They have great energy, great music and of course Dave Grohl is our drummer’s main influence. It would be one epic show!

What’s up for Dizzylilacs next?
As always, we are constantly writing more music / rehearsing and booking shows. We will be releasing yet another new single soon. You can also add Dizzylilacs Radio on Pandora for more music as well.

Any final words of wisdom?
Absolutely, whatever you choose to do in life. Don’t let anyone project their own fears upon you. If you love what you do, don’t ever stop! Believe in yourself.
