Downfall 2012 with Otep, M15 Concert Ball & Grill, February 14, 2015
What better way to spend Valentine’s Day than within the wilds of Corona, CA, checking out an epic Otep concert! And what a ferocious set the charismatic artist would unveil, performing with a compelling sense of urgency and conviction. In addition to her own exhilarating show, Otep brought along a collection of support acts that terrorized the M15 Concert Bar & Grill in a big and glorious way. Opening up the show was Downfall 2012 from Houston, Texas, a rock solid trio delivering their own rousing brand of heavy metal for the early arrivals.
Launching their set with the raging strains of Heckler from their recent Everyman For Himself Volume Two effort, Downfall 2012 filled the M15 Concert Hall with a massive wall of sonic devastation. The trio is tremendously tight, featuring the resourceful talents of Danny Gil on guitars and vocals, Boo Rogers on bass and vocals, and Casey Bowen on drums. The absolute highlight arrived right in the middle of the set, when all three members took to the front and center, presenting a thrilling percussive performance that enraptured the crowd. A drum solo times three, the dynamic presentation really made Downfall 2012 stand out from the other opening acts.
If their own original songs and memorizing drum/bucket exhibition wasn’t enough to capture your undivided attention, Downfall 2012’s wildly imaginative cover of the Johnny Cash classic Folsom Prison Blues was sure to leave you thoroughly impressed. With the task of opening a show at the breakfast hour, Downfall 2012 fearlessly took it on, unleashing a truly triumphant set. Be sure to catch Downfall 2012 the next time they play in your area, because their astounding live show is not to be missed!
