Enter Shikari, House of Blues – Sunset Strip, April 23, 2015
Enter Shikari, an awesome four-piece electronic hardcore band had a headlining set at the House of Blues Sunset Strip that just rocked! Enter Shikari is probably one of the most energetic bands you can possibly ever see live. They came out on stage with The Appeal & the Mindsweep I; which is off their latest record, “The Mindsweep” available now.
These guys are not just the stay on stage and play their music for you type of band, they’ll go in the crowd and have you circle pit around the bassist, Chris or vocalist, Rou, who went out in the crowd and did a whole song, specifically Gandhi, Mate Gandhi, on top of a table. One of the last times I saw them at Chain Reaction, they had their guitarist crowd surf, standing on top of his guitar, very different of course, also very funny guys.
Seeing them live is like going to a rave in a way, many electronic elements in their music, which makes one think of a rave or Japanese street racing music. The fans loved all the oldie but goodies such as Mothership, which is a song that practically everyone will participate in.
Enter Shikari is very capable of having a fun memorable show. Rou’s words are poetic, and true, and also very hard to forget. He talks a lot about political things, science, and the wrongs in the world. The way this band interacts with their audience is so fun to watch and it’s so cool to see the audience jump back and forth to the beat. This was definitely one of the most fun shows I’ve seen in a while.
