The Ready Set

Feel Good Now by The Ready Set (Decaydance/Warner Brothers Records)

The Ready Set spent their entire summer on the Warped Tour, performing to massive crowds on the Tilly’s/AP Stage. Their first EP for Decaydance/ Warner Brothers I’m Alive, I’m Dreaming produced a massive hit with the wildly infectious Love Like Woe.

Currently on the road supporting All Time Low, front man Jordan Witzigreuter and his band somehow found time in their incredibly busy schedule to record an EP of all new tunes entitled Feel Good Now. An admirable follow-up showing a good deal of ambition and depth, Feel Good Now should continue to cement The Ready Set reputation as a solid pop rocking sensation. Everyone from the young teen crowd to serious pop music lovers are sure to enjoy what the the talented Witzigreuter and his crew has to offer.

Opening Feel Good Now is the joyously wistful Hollywood Dream, regarding a Midwest boy whose nearly unobtainable affection is a starlet from Tinseltown. Killer is up next, a dazzling tune whose playful keyboard work and rambunctious lyrics sparkle as Jordan delivers a bad boy persona with an tongue in cheek sense of glee.

Back To Back has a solid rock opener channeling Joan Jett and the Blackhearts and a superb sing-a-long chorus that should have audiences all across the nation waving their hands in the air when performed live. A Little More possesses the same magnetic drive that made Love Like Woe such a sweet confection, while demonstrating its own sense of style.

Young Forever is a rock solid anthem that is sure to be a big hit for The Ready Set, with its driving beat and inspiring lyrics. And then there’s the pop rock perfection of Operator, a track The Ready Set previewed live at Warped Tour over the summer. One of the best songs Witzigreuter has committed to disc so far, the heavy-duty dance beats, emotional vocals, along with a super memorable chorus render this one an absolute standout.

Closing out the disc on a vibrant note is Notions, where the layered vocals and breezy musical interludes channel the classic pop acts of the past.  One of the most notable electronic dance acts out there today, Feel Good Now by The Ready Set is an striking next chapter from an artist we are sure to be hearing a lot more from in the years to come.
