Hoodoo by Krokus (Sony Music)

Krokus are absolute legends on the hard rock and heavy metal arena, and has been entertaining the masses since their 1974 inception. Now in the year 2010, the metal mavens from Switzerland unleash their 21st album to date – a grand slam of rockin’ tracks entitled Hoodoo.

The classic lineup returns in all their glory, including Marc Storace on lead vocals, Chris Von Rohr on bass, Fernando Von Arb and Mark Kohler on dueling guitars, and the wild and reckless Freddy Steady on drums. This collective ruled the world back in the 80’s with successful albums such as Headhunter and One Vice At A Time – and now return with an all-out vengeance.

Showing that classic metal will always live in and thrive in any music climate, Hoodoo presents 11 new songs guaranteed to rock across the generations of time. All the musicians are in top form, shining throughout the magnetic opus. Once opening track Drive It In crashes through your speakers, you could tell these guys mean serious business!

Hoodoo Woman is a down and dirty highlight that should be a hit single for the band. And while Born To The Wild has been covered to death by other groups, Krokus bring a sense of danger and urgency to the Steppenwolf classic.

Shot Of Love is a track destined to be a Krokus classic for the 21st century, filled with attitude and drive. Too Hot is a scorching jam complete with wildly infectious chorus. Ride Into The Sun shows just how fantastically effective Krokus can be with a power ballad. And for those like it hard and heavy, Firestar is guarantee to rock you into oblivion as the disc spins to its striking conclusion.

Along with AC/DC, Motorhead, and Scorpions, Krokus brought the “hard” into the “rock” well before most of you were born, and have served as a major influence to many a metal act. With Hoodoo, these Swiss musicians are ready to dish it out hot for at least another decade or three. One of the most powerful comeback albums of the year, here’s hoping Krokus is able to take their show on the road and visit us here in the States for some live party action!
