How long have you been playing guitar and what was your very first live performance?
I’ve been playing now for a little over 7 years. My very first live performance was when I was 12 and had only been playing for 6 months at a local restaurant in my hometown.

Who are some of the guitar players that inspire you?
Eddie Van Halen, Randy Rhoads, Neal Schon, Nile Rodgers, Mick Ronson, Jimmy Page, Paul Jackson Jr., Brian May

You recently played guitar for the I Am King Michael Jackson experience.  How did that come about and how has Michael Jackson inspired you?
They had actually seen me play when I was 15, I believe, and had wanted me to be a part of it then but I was too young! Fast forward a few years later, I got a message asking if I could fill in for an MJ show and it happened to be that same one! So funny. I love performing with I Am King. Michael Jackson has been one of my idols since I was really little, even before I picked up a guitar. I am so inspired by everything he creates and is a part of. I try to emulate the way he captures audiences and feels the music on and off stage. It’s so genuine and beautiful. He also inspires me to be kinder every day and more caring for our planet.

What was the experience like performing on The Late Late Show with James Corden for Chloe X Halle?
Those girls are so incredible. They inspire me to push myself every single day to work towards my dreams. I always make sure I’m on my A-game when we work together! It was an honor to perform with them on the Late Late Show as well as the MTV TV & Movie Awards.

What was the experience and some of the highlights of playing the Monsters Of Rock Cruise?
The experience was definitely unlike anything I had ever done before at the time. There’s so much happening and so many bands that I loved around me that I was overwhelmed in the best possible way, haha! It was pretty cool getting to perform alongside some of the guitar greats at 16.

You played a Randy Rhoads Remembered show at NAMM.  What was the highlight of playing that show for you?
That was surreal! Getting to honor one of the greatest guitar players ever with his family, friends, and fans was such an incredible feeling. I just remember not being able to stop smiling! Getting to perform Crazy Train with Rudy Sarzo and having Brent Woods, one of Randy’s select guitar students, there to cheer me on was amazing.

Will you be attending NAMM this year and/or will you be involved with any NAMM shows or exhibits?
Yes! I will be there to support my sponsors like PRS, C.R. Alsip, Dunlop, etc.

Since this is the NAMM issue, what are your instruments of choice and why?
My PRS Custom 24 SE’S have been my go-to’s since I started playing. Alongside them is my custom C.R. Alsip signature guitar and last but definitely not least, my black Gibson SG with gold hardware – all original from 1986 – given to me by Eric Singer of KISS. I can’t put it down!

What advice would you give a young guitarist seeking an endorsement deal?
Don’t be afraid to put yourself out there. Put the music first and don’t let anything stop you.

How do you deal with having a health scare at such a young age with your career about to take off into the stratosphere?
It’s NOT easy. I came close to death when I first got diagnosed with Severe Aplastic Anemia in 2017. I truly believe that my family, my fans, and my music are what kept me alive. I was having a pretty rough year and then when I got hit with that bad news, it was a huge blow. I wanted to give up many times and came very close to it. I finally realized after so many months of heartache that I was the only one that could fight for my life and  my dreams, it was not going to be handed to me. I am still currently battling SAA but know now how to manage and function with it so I can get back to living my life and doing what I love. This experience has been so difficult but has taught me so many valuable life lessons that will get me through anything that’s yet to come. I am coming back with an unstoppable force and I’m so excited for what’s to come.

Since you started at a young age, how supportive have your parents been throughout your career?
Without my parents, I would not be doing what I am today. They inspire me, encourage me, and are willing to drop anything and everything that they are doing to support my brother and I. I have never met anyone more selfless than my parents and I am so grateful for their love and support. Their encouragement has motivated me to pursue my dreams without thinking twice, no matter what my goals happened to be. I love my family more than anything.

Would you ever like to do a solo album or is that already in the works?
Someday.

What’s up in the New Year for Lexii Lynn Frazier?
