Diamond In The Rough by Mycah (Self-released EP)
There is so much rocking goodness arriving within the Los Angeles music scene these days – and one such act who’s just beginning to make headlines is Mycah! Expect to hear a lot more of the name Mycah in the future days ahead – especially if their debut EP Diamond In The Rough is a prime example of what’s ahead for this massively talented collective.
Fronted by the sweet and sassy Devon Mycah, fans of Blondie and Pat Benatar will surely want to check into what Mycah has to offer. Diamond In The Rough is a shimmering collection of five tunes destined to garner the band a good deal of attention well beyond the City Of Angels. The band has actually toured across the country and made an appearance at the famed Rocklahoma Festival this year.
“Do you ever think of me, when you’re out with the boys, trying to get your kicks, playing with your toys?” Ms. Mycah sings mischievously before launching headfirst into the super infectious Unbreakable. Such a dynamic and empowering song that should be all over the radio airwaves – and this is only the beginning of the EP!
The shimmering rockers continue with the arrival of What You’re All About raging through your speakers with fiendish glee. Already Over You features big and rapturous performances from all band members while Last Cigarette speaks of an addictive love with a glorious punk rock aesthetic. And then closing out Diamond In The Rough is the absolutely gorgeous Don’t Say Goodbye, where Devon Mycah showcases her wondrously emotional vocals with a sparkling piano accompaniment.
In addition to the impressive vocal performances of Devon Mycah, there is a good deal of talent to be found within the band membership. Featured within the Mycah lineup are Robbie Reid on guitar, Tyler Renga on bass, and Esteban Carvajal on drums – all bringing these songs to ultra-vivid life.
Be sure to check into Diamond In The Rough by Mycah and catch up with a rising star! And catch Mycah live at the Tiki Bar in Costa Mesa on August 20th and at the legendary Rainbow Bar and Grill in West Hollywood on September 4th.
