Recite The Raven

Memories Entombed EP by Recite The Raven (Self-released)

Unleashing a ferocious brand of metal and hardcore, Recite The Raven from Taunton, MA present their progressive take on the genre, coming up with something tremendously solid – and sonically brutal. Fans of acts such as The Devil Wears Prada and Whitechapel just may discover a new favorite when uncovering what Recite The Raven has to offer. Memories Entombed is the name of this collection, five songs guaranteed to give granny and other unsuspecting characters a serious case of whiplash.

The EP kicks into supersonic gear with the heavy penetrating sounds of Divine Punishment assaulting the listener with a relentless precision. Throne Of Misery is a fiery thrashing number showing just how aggressive yet resourceful the music is. The clean vocal that arrives half way during the song present a dramatic juxtaposition to the devastating unclean vo-kills.

Speak Up If Relevant once again shows how effectively clean and brutal vocals could mix without sounding routine. A New Beginning is the longest cut on the EP – five-plus minutes of dynamic thrash metal action and a haunting clean vocal in the chorus rendering this one is a sure fire standout.

Recite The Raven claws its way to a tremendous grand finale with The Scripted Road.  The musicianship throughout is tight and inventive, certain to impress those who like their metal precise and extreme to the core.

The vibrant Recite The Raven lineup consists of Brandon Garcia on vocals, Nate Garcia on vocals, Tom Joly on lead guitar, Kyle Medeiros on rhythm guitar, Adam Machado on bass, and Colton Sousa on drums. A terrific start to be sure, it will be exciting to watch this band develop and progress with time. In the meanwhile, Memories Entombed by Recite The Raven is a thunderous introduction to a band destined to leave an indelible stamp on all who venture out to give a good long listen.
