Famined Records Signs Belgium’s Strains, New Single to Release on May 19th
Famined Records is proud to announce the signing of Belgium’s metal/hardcore outfit Strains. Strains’ vocalist Maarten Janssen had this to say on the signing, “We are glad we have been given the chance to release our first EP via American label Famined Records. From the start we felt they could give us the support we needed to reach new fans in and out of the US.” The band is slated to release their upcoming Aljoscha Sieg recorded EP this summer that they began recording a year ago with Maarten commenting, “We took our time to get the best out of this first EP and are more than happy with the record we’ve been able to create.”
Details of their Redefine[d] EP will be released at a later date; however, the band’s new single from the EP will be released on May 19th and the band’s 2015 plans also include two separate tours during the summer. In July Strains will be hitting venues all over Europe before focusing just on the UK in September with details and further plans releasing closer to their respective dates. With the band releasing their debut EP on Famined Records this summer and touring throughout the year, the band is primed to explode into the scene and become a household name within the next year.
Strains are a brand new modern metal / hardcore act hailing from Opglabbeek, Belgium. Although the group consists of really young members (most of them born in 1993), they’ve already toured Europe multiple times with their previous band, delivering crushing performances on stages all over the continent as support for bands such as While She Sleeps, Heaven Shall Burn and Stick To Your Guns.
They’ve now decided to renew their image and start a new project with the same members, calling themselves Strains. The band released their first single “Infinite” together with a music video in December 2014, which reached thousands of views in only a matter of weeks. Their debut EP Redefine[d] is set to be released through American label Famined Records. The album tells the personal story of an accident vocalist Maarten had in 2007, expressing pain, struggle, hope, and insecurity.
