Pop punk is surely not dead – lately we’ve had such terrific new bands on the scene such as The Downtown Fiction and As Is It – and now add Such Strange Arts to the list of collectives ready to make an impact on the a genre that continues to thrive and prosper all over the planet. The part of the world Such Strange Arts hail from is Essex County in the UK – and their latest EP Waking The Neighbours is sure to awaken music fans everywhere! Unleashed here in the States via Standby Records, Waking The Neighbours by Such Strange Arts is an early entry for any Top Ten EP of 2016 list!

Waking The Neighbours kicks off with the joyously triumphant refrains of Criminal, a massively wildly infectious song that will jangle wickedly in your head for ages. All this, and the pop punk band references playing “Mötley Crüe on the radio!” An epic commencement to be sure, with four more tracks to follow!

Figure It Out is another prime example of Such Strange Art’s talent for presenting massive anthems to the world at large – complete with driving choruses you’ll be singing along with in a live setting. Title cut Waking The Neighbours is a glorious slice of pop punk extravaganza in the grand tradition of Blink 182 and New Found Glory!

12241043_921181631305635_7593640654425973298_oUp next is the deceptively titled Sexual Relations, which appears to actually be about a rather heart-wrenching breakup. “I see her on the sofa, watching Oprah, finding ways to break up with me now, somehow,” are the wickedly dark lyrics to be found within this ironic tune. And then closing out the EP way too soon is the emotional ballad Stay, unveiling a very different, heartfelt side to Such Strange Arts.

Waking The Neighbours by Such Strange Arts is your pop punk soundtrack to the summer arriving early, ready to warm up the chill of this frosty winter and beyond. Having played extensively throughout England, including shows supporting Fearless Vampire Killers and Scouting for Girls, here’s hoping Such Strange Arts make their way here to the States for some pop rocking, high energy fun! In the meantime, be sure to check into Waking The Neighbours by Such Strange Arts and say hello to your new favorite pop punk sensation! Such Strange Arts is Jake on vocals, Matt on guitar, Dean on bass, and Antony on drums.
