This year’s Hootennany festival will be headlined by Dropkick Murphys and features Reverend Horton Heat, Murder City Devils, Supersuckers, Swingin’ Utters, Royal Crown Revue, John Doe, Three Bad Jacks, Rosei Flores, Big Sandy, Mojo Nixon, Roger Alan Wade, Louis & Wildfires, Viva Hate, Powerflex 5 and 454’s along with The Rocketz.

Hootenanny will take place at Oak Canyon Ranch, in Irvine, California on July 2, 2011.

The Rocketz are a Punk and Rockabilly trio from Los Angeles consisting of Singer/Guitarist Tony Slash, drummer Anthony Drinkwater and Upright Bassist Nick Achondo. The Rocketz have two albums, their latest We Are The Rocketz and their 2005 debut Rise of the Undead, which has recently been re-released and can be purchased at Hot Topic and ordered online at CDBaby and downloaded at iTunes.

The Rocketz brand of Rock’n’Roll encompasses Old School Punk, Rockabilly, Country and Swing. Rise of the Undead entertained the masses with songs about Zombies and Vampires and Horror movies themes with epic shout-along choruses. Some of the highlights are “KILLING” and the title track, along with a choice cover of The Clash’sPolice on My Back“. Slash’s big, beefy guitar sound is confident throughout. Fans waited impatiently for four years until We Are… was released and again kicked our collective asses with an even more eclectic collection of Hardcore Punk covers, swinging love songs and instant classic songs like “Label on the Bottle“, “East L.A.“, “Razor Blades” and “Ain’t Nowhere To Go” that gets the kids dancing, wrecking and tossing their beers in the air. You can see some of their videos on YouTube.

A true DIY band, you can find The Rocketz on the road most weeks, locally in Los Angeles and Orange County, as well as at car shows, festivals and tattoo shows and they take to the road several times a year to entertain audiences from Seattle to New York to Florida to Texas and all places in between, making the fans sweat and smile. Hootenanny is their audience. Get there early!

Tickets for Hootenanny are now available at Ticketmaster.
