The Word Alive announces headline tour for April / May 2011!

The Word Alive is excited to announce their first ever full headline tour!

The SmartPunk Tour featuring The Word Alive will head our across the U.S. this April / May, with support from Upon A Burning Body, Abandon All Ships, For All Those Sleeping and The Color Morale.

The tour comes in support of critically-acclaimed 2010 album Deceiver. VIP advance tickets will be available starting tomorrow from SmartPunkTour.com.

The band has just completed their successful U.S. run with A Day To Remember and Underoath, and continues their 2011 live onslaught with a slot on Motel 6’s Rock Yourself To Sleep Tour in January, headlined by We Came As Romans. The Phoenix, AZ sextet will also head overseas in April / May for their first European tour, and have just been confirmed for the entire Vans Warped Tour.

The Word Alive’s track “The Hounds Of Anubis” has just been added to Rock Band Network, and the band is currently featured in Metal Hammer’s 75 Bands That Will Shape The Future Of Metal.

THE WORD ALIVE – Tyler “Telle” Smith (vocals), Zach Hansen (guitar), Tony Pizzuti (guitar), Nick Urlacher (bass), Dusty Riach (keys/synth), Justin Salinas (drums) – exploded into the metal scene with debut album Deceiver, debuting at #96 in the Billboard Top 100 this summer. The band has been featured in Alternative Press, Revolver Magazine,Metal Hammer, Ultimate Guitar, OUTBURN, Substream, AMP, AOL Noisecreep, Rock Sound and Lambgoat. The band have toured solidly in 2010, including a sold out U.S. spring tour with labelmates Alesana, an appearance at Bamboozle Festival, dates on Warped Tour, a run with Bleeding Through this September and the A Day To Remember / Underoath Tour this November. The band also appeared on Punk Goes Pop 3, the tenth in Fearless Records’ world-renowned compilation series, with their cover of Kanye West’sHeartless“.
