URGENCY by THE KINGS KIDS (Thumper Punk Records)

This is old school punk with Christian overtones in the lyrics. But they punch out with a 1977 punk style with it catchy power pop garage sound added in for good measure. If you took Material Issue and mixed it with Bad Religion and early The Who you get a good idea where the music comes from.

The Christian music scene was missing a good punk band, so now they have one. Some of the songs on this debut CD could easily become singles and make some good radio play like on KXLU or any other college radio station for that matter.

The 14 songs on here don’t slow down in the least. A couple tracks though do jump out just a tad more like Fallen Short and Sons Of Revolution, but all are well worth checking out. Anthems are strong on this CD but they don’t take away from the over all true punk core sound, which is great to hear.

The Kings Kids will be performing an all ages show at The Cobalt Café on February 18th 2011 $12.00 they are on tour from Salinas California. So if your in The San Fernando Valley on that particular Friday night come bounce around and have a good time in the pit.
