newordermute1New Order are very pleased to announce they have signed to Mute, and that their next release will be on the legendary independent label.

Speaking about the signing Daniel Miller explains: “This is an exciting new chapter for both Mute and New Order and I feel privileged to be working with artists with such a long, creative and successful history. When the possibility of us working together first came up, I was invited to hear some of the new material and immediately had no doubts whatsoever that Mute would be the right home for New Order. We’ve already had a number of creative conversations, and I am looking towards an exciting future”.

New Order are similarly thrilled with their new home “New Order are delighted to be signing to Mute. We couldn’t imagine a better place to be than working with Daniel Miller and his team. Mute has a superb roster of artists and a history that complements our own. In many ways joining the label feels like we are coming home, returning to our independent roots.”

Forming in 1980 out of the ashes of Manchester band Joy Division, New Order have released a total of nine studio and two live albums, starting with their debut single ‘Ceremony’ on Factory Records in 1981. Thus starting a career as iconic as it has been influential.

2014 has seen the band play for the Tibet House charity at New York’s Carnegie Hall, curated by Philip Glass. They performed Joy Division classics, ‘Love Will Tear Us Apart’ and ‘Transmission’ with Iggy Pop, alongside never played live New Order track ‘Californian Grass’ from their 2013 release Lost Sirens.

They toured South America in April 2014, playing at Lollapolooza, then headed to the US for a hugely well received run of dates, airing several new tracks to rapturous reception. New Order will soon return to the studio to continue working on new material.

Founded in 1978 by Daniel Miller, Mute has signed and developed an amazing array of innovative artists, including Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds, Depeche Mode, Plastikman and Moby. The current roster includes Goldfrapp, Erasure, Plastikman, Liars, Can and Cabaret Voltaire, alongside newer signings such as Zola Jesus, Swans, Ben Frost, Big Deal, Land Observations, Cold Specks, Diamond Version and Maps.

The last time fans have heard from the band was after the release of their third full length self-titled LP in 2012 via Solid State Records. Bloomfield continues, “This record is a huge leap for us musically and I couldn’t be happier with how it’s turning out. (Nashville, Tenn.) September 2, 2014 – Mayfly, the hardest working band in Central Ohio is back at it with their first official lyric video for the song “Skylights” off their debut EP Vereor Deus, Non Dogma on Voluminous Records. The band chose to pursue a different course from many bands by using live video footage from various shows as the backdrop for the lyrics. “Skylights” (featuring Rob Goad and Justin Moore) is quite possibly the EP’s most aggressively brutal track among a stable of pretty vicious tunes. In the words of the iTunes editor’s review of the album, “the frantic tempo and dense vocal interplay of ‘Skylights’ takes the EP’s ferocity level up another notch.” That unbridled intensity is most certainly on display in this video. The video will debut on the Mayfly YouTube channel on Tuesday, September 9th.

As the band prepares for the follow-up to Vereor Deus, Non Dogma, Mayfly continues to blow the doors off any venue courageous enough to host a show. For those occasional outdoor gigs, young families are inevitably sent packing and wildlife is often seen fleeing to the surrounding countryside. The band’s testosterone-laden “take no prisoners” swagger leaves a wake of carnage for all to witness. In the midst of this dogged determination to push forward and “make disciples” at any cost, the bold, bearded men from Troy are building a strong, vibrant fan base one show at a time; one tweet at a time; one post at a time; one shattered eardrum at a time. Catch the band this Saturday, September 6th, at Fort Wayne, Indian’s Ultrasound Festival before they take a much-needed respite from touring to focus on writing for the next album.

ee85be01-d424-4017-84ca-f7281fe7198aBAND TO MAKE BIG REVEAL ON FACEBOOK ON FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 5

(New York, N.Y.): Atreyu entered a brief period of dormancy in 2011, after having steadily risen to the top of the metalcore heap during the American metal Renaissance of the ’00s. The inactivity is over. The beast has risen. The dust has been shaken off. Atreyu are back and they are poised for big things through the rest of 2014 and beyond.

5fb2d2ff-9ff1-445d-86c7-099ad8a479f4Atreyu have a September 11 gig at Chain Reaction in their native Orange County, which sold out in less than a minute, and a much-heralded appearance at the 2014 edition of AFTERSHOCK on the horizon. They also have quite a surprise in store for fans this Friday, September 5.

Drummer/vocalist Brandon Saller has offered a hint of what’s to come, indicating that it is the fans that keep the Atreyu engines running at full throttle. He said, “This is the rebirth of Atreyu. You have stood by us for countless years. This is for you. Thank you.”

Singer Alex Varkatzas concurred, saying, “We can’t wait to share this with our fans and the world. We are revitalized!”

Tune in Friday, September 5 at 9AM PT/12PM ET to find out exactly what Atreyu have in store for fans and the metal world.

Faithsedge album-coverUS Hard Rock / Progressive metallers Faithsedge have released a lyric video for the song ‘Saving Anything’, taken from their new album ‘The Answer Of Insanity’, out now on Scarlet Records.

After the critically acclaimed debut album, Faithsedge return with ‘The Answer Of Insanity’, featuring singer/songwriter Giancarlo Floridia, former Dokken lead guitarist Alex De Rosso, drummer Tony Morra (Van Zant) and two of the best keyboard players in melodic rock, Eric Ragno (Trixter /Fergie Frederiksen) and Alessandro Del Vecchio (Hardline). ‘The Answer Of Insanity’ is simply a perfect mix of hard rock, heavy metal and progressive, with plenty of melodic old school hooks, concept songwriting and stripped-down edgy in your face production to rebel back at current trends and fads in the music business. Produced by Fabrizio Grossi (Steve Vai/Steve Lukather) and mastered by Peter Doell (David Lee Roth/Richard Marx) at Universal Mastering in Los Angeles, the album is now available worldwide.

3d70bc4c-cded-4a75-9798-d9f7b4a9e16dSTRYVIGOR biography
The foundation of STRYVIGOR was settled in the autumn 2012 in Khmelnytskyi, Ukraine by guitarist Khladogard (ex-VENDOGARD) and vocalist Dusk (ENDLESS BATTLE). By that time, the material for their debut album was finished – it was atmospheric black metal from the stylistic point of view. Later, drummer Rungvar joined the project. In winter 2013, the band started the recording session for their debut album. And in spring of the same year, the project got its name: STRYVIGOR.

6c93d839-d149-409b-9b95-e65eee5cb330Stryvigor is a mountain river which flows through the magnificent Carpathians and brings the wisdom of our ancestors and memory of our land with the river’s rapid stream. Namely, this river inspired the musicians to form a new project, as the main lyrical topics are related to nature, wintry landscapes, and woody twilights, infinite stellar firmament and the infinite universe, the babble of a rapid mountain stream and a sunrise of the spring sun, memory of warrior valor and blood-based brotherhood. All of these things are closely intertwined in the songs of STRYVIGOR and solely written in the Ukrainian language.

The debut album by STRYVIGOR, which has the symbolic title Forgotten by Ages, will be released on September 13, 2014 by SVARGA MUSIC. The nearest plans for the future are to record the second album, which is already prepared, and tour to support the release of the debut.

FIDES INVERSA set release date for new W.T.C. album

SONY DSCFive years on from their Osmose-released debut, Hanc Aciem Sola Retundit Virtus (The Algolagnia Divine), Fides Inversa strike with their second album, Mysterium Tremendum et Fascinans, set for international release on October 31st via W.T.C. Productions. In those five years, the Italian band have been honing their onstage assault all across the stages of Europe, their rituals becoming real celebrations of zealotry. That experience surely shows across the bold, finessed canvas of Mysterium Tremendum et Fascinans, where “black metal” is rendered not as a definition but as an alternately life-giving/life-destroying force.

fides2Classicist yet paying no lip service to tradition, Fides Inversa invested their very souls in the creation of this second opus: exhaustive spiritual research and a total immersion inside the darkest manifestations of what the German theologist Rudolf Otto called “the numinous.” The divine, in its most terrifying forms, takes life from chaotic sounds and revealed words whose intent is to represent the mystic terror and the undefeatable fascination of Death, the human nullification, in favor of a complete prostration to the One whose light is spread out of the darkest vacuum. Ascend and descend with Fides Inversa’s Mysterium Tremendum et Fascinans
