OCEANS ATE ALASKA RELEASES NEW SINGLE AND MUSIC VIDEO FOR “VULTURES AND SHARKS”

Oceans_Ate_AlaskaBirmingham, UK’s Oceans Ate Alaska has premiered the chilling music video for their new single “Vultures and Sharks,” with the song available for purchase on iTunes. The track is featured on the band’s forthcoming debut album Lost Isles, set to release February 24th. Filmed in the United Kingdom, directors Adam Barker and Oliver Price of VideoInk looked to bring out the aggression heard throughout the song by playing off nature’s most destructive elements.

oceansvid1Lead vocalist James Harrison explains, “We had a ton of fun back in December shooting our video for V&S. We were soaking wet and freezing cold for the majority of it, which sure took it’s toll both mentally and physically. Artistically we wanted the video to coincide with the track lyrically, hence the rain, wind, and storms. Hopefully the finished product enriches those emotions contained within this song.”

oceansatecdLost Isles is available for pre-order digitally on iTunes featuring instant downloads of tracks “Blood Brothers,” “Floorboards,” “Vultures and Sharks,” and on MerchNow with several bundle options for fans. Visit OceansAteAlaska.co.uk for more information and to watch the video.

OCEANS ATE ALASKA – Stemming from Birmingham, UK, Oceans Ate Alaska is made up of James Harrison (Vocals), James Kennedy (Guitar), Adam Zytkiewicz (Guitar), Mike Stanton (Bass), and Chris Turner (Drums). The band offers a progressive strain of experimental modern metalcore that has gotten them noticed as one of metal’s most exciting and fresh young names. With music as unpredictable as it is expressive, the band found inspiration for their name from the world’s largest recorded mega-tsunami – measuring at 1,700 feet high – that demolished Alaska’s coastline in 1958. The band was attracted to the natural disaster’s national headline that read “Oceans Ate Alaska” where they decided to carry the name on a path to make their own history. By pushing sonic boundaries, Oceans Ate Alaska aim to take listeners on an emotional journey through unpredictable arrangements (both heavy and melodic), ruthless riffs, and unforgiving guttural vocals; setting an atmospheric landscape that showcases the band’s technical skill.

YELLOWCARD Announces US Spring Tour

Continuing their worldwide tour in support of their seventh studio album LIFT A SAIL (Razor & Tie), YELLOWCARD is announcing the second leg of their US tour. The tour begins on April 6th in Lawrence, KS and wraps around the states until mid-May.

“We are finally able to announce our amazing Spring US tour plans,” said the band from a joint statement. “From April 6 to May 10, we will be out supporting Lift a Sail. We are heading out with a band we have had the honor of sharing the stage with for many years, Finch! Also doing half the tour each will be One Ok Rock and The Downtown Fiction. We are so stoked on this lineup! Ticket links will be available on all of our websites, and VIP packages will be offered. The first 800 VIP packages will also receive an exclusive colored Lift a Sail vinyl. Check the dates and come see a show if we are coming close to you!” More info can be found: http://goo.gl/l4ODwz.

In addition, the new video for “Crash The Gates” premieres on REVOLVER here http://goo.gl/C88LVE. Interspersed with scenes from various hockey games, the live video perfectly captures the song’s energy and “fiery electric riffs” (SputnikMusic). “‘Crash The Gates‘ is about power and dynamics,” explains guitarist Ryan Mendez. “It’s incredibly fun to play live because it’s loud and heavy and very engaging with the crowd. We think it’s a perfect fit with the energy and aggression of hockey.”

Hailed by Alternative Press as “their boldest, most exploratory work to date,” Lift A Sail has taken the band into new and uncharted territory, upping the ante as well as the guitars to new, louder heights. Indulge-Sound captured the spirit of this album as “the Braveheart of Yellowcard albums”, it stands as a critical-acclaimed album that “is a true display of the evolution of Yellowcard as a band.” (Soundsphere), Lift a Sail was called “massive and majestic, full of cavernous drums and pile-driving guitars that meld with layers of deeply textured keyboards” by Guitar World, while Kerrang! chimed, “Air-violins at the ready, ’cause the ‘Card are ripping it up.”

Yellowcard is Ryan Key (vocals, guitars), Sean Mackin (violins), Ryan Mendez (guitar), and Josh Portman (bass). Lift A Sail was produced by Neal Avron and was released via Razor & Tie.

The Plague Within was produced and mixed by Jaimie Gomez Arellano from Orgone Studios in London (GHOST BC, ULVER, CATHEDRAL, ANGEL WITCH).

More details about PARADISE LOST’s upcoming album will be revealed soon…
