  1. http://Www.killthemasses.com . Check us out. Writing new album co produced by Chris Storey former guitar player from All Shall Perish.
Arising out of the bright lights and anything goes attitude of Las Vegas, Nevada hails KILL THE MASSES. Exploding riffs, earth shattering breakdowns, and melodic choruses are sure to make a huge mark on the currently erupting global metal scene. Mixing sub genres of Metal, Death-Metal, and Hardcore in their own unique way gives any fan of heavy music something new to listen to.

Forming in the spring of 2008, Kiernan McArdle (vocals), Jason Benoit (guitar), Matt Drazich (guitar/vocals), Christian Waiau (bass), and then drummer Jared Rice hit the ground running, and started playing shows a couple months after forming. Anyone that gave the new band a listen became an instant fan. In less than a year KILL THE MASSES was playing with national acts. They have shared the stage with such acts as Bleeding Through, Abigail Williams, Carnifex, Miss May I, Mushroom Head, Divine Heresy, Motionless in White, Abysmal Dawn, Daath, and Goatwhore, just to name a few. “We feel that we don’t belong to any particular metal scene. The band has many different influences and it shows. We have played shows where we have been the only band like us, and have always been easily accepted from Death Metal, Metalcore, Thrash Metal, and even Hardcore fans,” says vocalist Kiernan. In May of 2009, KILL THE MASSES hit the studio to create their self released, self titled debut album. Two months before they were due to record, then drummer, Jared Rice, went his separate way. This misfortune did not slow the band down, and led to the addition of session drummer Josh Garcia, formerly of the national Metal band Grade-8. As soon as the album was finished, some of the songs were released for free streaming on the bands’ Myspace. The response was overwhelmingly positive and KILL THE MASSES began to garner new fans at an alarming rate. In an album review by Downshifter from fullmetalrock.com, it was stated that KILL THE MASSES’ self-titled debut was, upon first listen, a “very likeable album.” Downshifter went on to say that “most albums take repeated listens to get used to, but not with KILL THE MASSES. The album, in fact, gets better and better with each listen.”

Throughout the summer of 2009, KILL THE MASSES began to gain the support and endorsement of local and national companies such as Slaughterhouse Clothing, Poker’s Tattoo Parlor, and Vitamin Water. In addition, KTM got the ball rolling on their merch by having renowned artist Aaron Crawford design a new shirt for the band. Crawford is known for designing shirts for national acts such as Suicide Silence, Wretched, Knights of the Abyss, and Catalepsy.

After the album was released on August 1st, 2009, Josh Garcia stepped down from the drum throne as planned to work on his other project, Ghost Machine, with vocalist Ivan Moody of Five Finger Death Punch. Drumming duties were handed over to Elden Ferris, former drummer for the Las Vegas death metal band, The Severed Head Speaks. Now feeling stronger than ever before, KTM is ready to take it to the next level. The tremendous amount of effort the band has put into the construction of their machine shows how serious they are about bringing their music to a world-wide stage. In only 2 short year, KILL THE MASSES has shot to the forefront of the Las Vegas metal scene, and they show no signs of slowing down

  2. Hey guys and gals,

We’re Internal Nightmare from Melbourne, Australia – We’re just about to release a brand new EP titled ‘Segregation’ (due mid-April), have multiple songs available for free download/listens on our Myspace and Reverbnation pages and are about to embark on an East Coast Tour of Australia with our metal-minded brothers in Scar The Surface – check the Myspace for up-to-date tour dates.

We also recently appeared on the Australian music quiz TV show ‘Spicks & Specks’ to over 2 million viewers, performing covers of some classic rock and pop songs in our own style – We even got to play a cover of ‘Original Sin’ by INXS – in front of Jon Farriss (INXS drummer)!!!

    See the footage here: http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=internal+nightmare&search_type=&aq=f

Bio: A leader in any true metal fan’s book, Internal Nightmare is a devastating sight to behold!

Formed late 2007 in Melbourne, Australia – Internal Nightmare is the result of a collective passion for aggressive, groove-laden music with avoidances to current (detrimental) trends that seem to be destroying the quality of modern metal.

Taking cues from legendary acts such as Machine Head, Lamb Of God, Pantera, Unearth, Death, Cataract and a multitude of other influences, the band form songs into cohesive, well rounded and memorable pieces, intent on providing the listener with both the headcrushing aggressiveness and pure dynamic flow that often seems to be overlooked in the Australian music scene today.

March 2009 saw the release of Internal Nightmare’s debut promotional disc (containing live hits Closed Loop Of Creation, Birth and The Term Is Frustration?) via web-based mediums/self distribution to public acclaim.

Recorded and mixed at Legion Studio Productions by Julian Renzo and mastered at Crystal Mastering by Joe Carra, the debut release from Internal Nightmare is an untamed beast, viciously forcing the listener into an unapologetic state of toe-tapping aggression – with its riff-based guitar work, powerhouse drumming, commanding vocals and heaving low end, this release is only the tip of the iceberg in respect to the band’s overall sound and impact.

Heavily canvassing their home state of Victoria and making trips all around the country, Internal Nightmare has rallied to become a dominating force on today’s metal scene – regardless of genre (or subgenres) – playing alongside some of Aus & NZ’s biggest metal acts inc: THE BEZERKER, ALARUM, FRANKENBOK, TRUTH CORRODED, EARTH, SCAR THE SURFACE, THE DAY EVERYTHING BECAME NOTHING, HUMONIC, 1 SHOT KILL, SEPARATIST, LYNCHMADA, IN MALICE’S WAKE, JACK THE STRIPPER, HATCHET DAWN, DEATH AUDIO and DAWN OF AZAZEL at some of Australia’s most respected venues.

In October of 2009 Internal Nightmare appeared on the ABC networks Spicks & Specks which can now be viewed on YouTube.com. In the same year a video shoot was held for The Term Is Frustration? due to premier Early-Mid 2010 via the Stoptime Media ‘Melbourne Metal Unleashed’ DVD, not to mention extensive local gigging and interstate touring as well as airplay on one of the internet’s fastest growing all-metal webcast stations – MeltedMetal.com – and with a new EP due early-mid 2010, Internal Nightmare is well on its way to becoming an unstoppable force within the metal realm.

  5. CODEDECODED says:

CODEDECODED was formed in 2008, by professional musicians, which are truly dedicated to deliver pure Hellenic Technical Brutal music, worldwide. From 2008 until now the band is writing, rehearsing and recording their material. A debut album soon will be released.

  6. Chapters says:

We are Chapters, a southern hardcore band from Iowa, in the same vein of Once Nothing. We have released one EP, Resilience, and been on multiple tours, building a very solid fanbase in the midwest and the south.

Feel free to give us a listen and stop by and say hi!

  7. Like many young punk bands, All Or Nothing have had their fair share of line-up changes, since their inception in 2004, having come together through a mutual love for all things punk-rock and a passionate interest in local shows in and around their native Birmingham.

All Or Nothing pride themselves on having always played their own blend of fast-paced punk-rock, without overlooking killer hooks and a well placed melody. It’s this formula that has seen the band knock up shows alongside the likes of heavyweights such as Funeral For A Friend, Kids In Glass Houses, Cancer Bats, Gallows, Frank Turner, Set Your Goals and You Me At Six.

In keeping with their fierce D.I.Y ethos, the band released their debut E.P ‘Is Pretty Hot Right Now’ in November of 2007, through Zone 6 Records (Living With Lions, Fireworks). The effort was produced by John Mitchell (Enter Shikari, You Me At Six, Funeral For A Friend) and even got a release in Japan via the Inya Face label.

The international toe-dipping doesn’t stop there either, the band became the first of their kind (unsigned UK pop-punk band) to tour Russia. Their six-date tour saw them drawing 300-400 people a night and concluded with a support slot with fellow brits Bring Me The Horizon in Moscow to just under 4,000 people.

With half a dozen full UK tours now under their belts, the band marked their July tour with stateside pop-punkers The Wonder Years with their first vinyl release, on US label No Sleep Records. The 7” was practically sold out before its official release date, with pre-orders surpassing everybody involved’s expectations.

The Midlands based quartet are now set to release a split E.P with Brighton based pop-punks, Chaos Days, through All Aboard Records. The release features two eagerly awaited brand new tracks, that have already been met with positive reaction in live settings and weekly airplay on Kerrang! radios unsigned show. The CD is due for release on Monday 7th December 2009.

The winter period will then be spent writing their long awaited debut full-length, with a view to using a big name producer in America in the spring. With their flawless work ethic, and a full-length very much in the works, there’ll be no avoiding All Or Nothing in 2010.

“We reckon these young upstarts could go far, head over to their myspace page and check them out on tour before it goes global.” (Exposure, Best New Music Feature)
    - Rock Sound magazine

“All Or Nothing’s fast, spirited pop-punk, preoccupied with long hot summers, makes them the obvious choice to open a night of shiny punk like this.” (5 K Live Kerrang Review, Broadway Calls show)
    - Kerrang! magazine

“Birmingham’s All Or Nothing team up with Brighton boys Chaos Days for this offering and the result is one of pleasingly consistent quality. The former’s melodic yet gritty output will surely appeal to fans of Alkaline Trio and suchlike; All Or Nothing just about have the edge, their deceptively weighty riffs served up alongside saccharine sweet vocal harmonies you can hum along to.” (8/10 split EP Review)
    - Rock Sound magazine

“On the strength of songs like ‘This Is Very Impossible’ – which is sadly only available digitally – All Or Nothing won’t need much help for long. Their reluctance to go double bass-crazy is respectable, while a high-flying guitar solo takes the song from punk-and-done to repeat-button-rocker.”
    - absolutepunk.net

“There’s no doubt All Or Nothing are one of the most improved bands of 2008, they are progressing as a band all the time. The tracks on this split ‘Distances’ are as good as any they’ve done and they are getting better and better.”
    - Punktastic.com

  8. Eric says:

    http://www.myspace.com/RosabellaMusic

Originally from a diverse mix of other bands in the Baltimore area, Rosabella joined together in 2008 with one common goal: Make great music that fans love.
Rosabella busted down the doors of the local rock scene in 2009 with their debut album, What We’ve Become. This album merges edgy yet memorable lyrics and vocal melody with energetic and intricate music that captures attention and leaves your ears wanting more. Each song walks the listener through a mix of emotions and sounds, telling a story that other bands in similar genres fall short of. Each member brings a unique style and sound to the band, and when working collectively create music that inspires and entertains. With standout tracks like “Something at All” and “Life as You Know It”, Rosabella proves to be a major force in the Baltimore rock music scene. While some bands would stop there, Rosabella is attempting to push the envelope and become a name that is recognizable across the country.

  11. Hello all! My name is Josh AKA Cassettes and I hail from Riverside, CA. I was formally in another Riverside based screamo band called Planes Crash. Unfortunately, Planes Crash has long since broken up and since I wanted to continue with music with everything I was and am, I decided to start my own solo project with some friends of mine from certain bands like She’s Sinking and On Being Human. Cassettes is a very mellow, chill, and easy listening type project. It’s very City And Colour-ish (Ex-Alexisonfire) Anyway, I’m not sure what else to say…So yea! There is it. :) Check me out at Myspace.com/IAmCassettes

  13. Out of ashes says:

Hi, we are OUT OF ASHES from Antelope Valley California. We formed in late june of 2009. Having only being a band for a short time, we have accomplished much. We have put much of our focus on writing material instead of playing shows. Although we have played at places such as the whisky a go go, the joint, the crossing and many other venues, we have not made our focus to play shows. We have already recorded a 5 song ep and have written enough songs to hit the studio and record a full cd. Even though we recently lost a guitar player we push forward and do not let that get in the way. A group of 4 now, ranging in age from 17 to 23, we are very talented musicians who bring a different twist on an already popular genre. We are dedicated hard working and promote, book, and do everything ourselves. So if you like driving “in your face” music with an uplifting feel and meaningful lyrics, then check out “Out Of Ashes” at http://www.myspace.com/thebandoutofashes

  16. Bodies We've Buried says:

Bodies We’ve Buried is a melodic metalcore band from Denver, Colorado formed in 2009. Founded from the denouncement of the band, The Bloodshed Ensemble, Bodies We’ve Buried’s lineup consists of the former instrumentalists Jaymes Nelson, Guido Diaz, Bo Burbank, and Aaron Shea with newcomer Rob Penna. Although the majority of the members of Bodies We’ve Buried are from The Bloodshed Ensemble, they have set out to prove themselves as a completely new identity in the Colorado metal genre. Blending heavy riffs with melodic overtones, Bodies We’ve Buried utilizes every ounce of manpower they have to offer into their music. Using three guitars and the vocal power from each member, Bodies We’ve Buried’s unique style is powerful, energetic, and engaging.

  17. Oh! The Humanity started as a studio project for long time friends, Sam Dean (Foreknown, Jamestown Story, No Wings To Speak Of), Kyle Kumer (Game Time) and Josh Barber (The American Life) in the summer of 2009. Despite the 587 miles that separated them from each other, the 3 started to exchange song ideas via email and the idea began to form. Coming together in January of 2012 in Kansas City the 3 started to fine tune and record these concepts that had flown back and forth over the internet so many times in the months prior. These are just the 1st of many recordings from Oh! The Humanity, and a taste of things to come. Keep your ears open and your eyes peeled for more very very soon.

  22. Pooch Carver says:

We’re not a new band, but we are unsigned. Experimental Death/doom/noise/grind metal band from Chicago!

  23. River Gypsies formed in January of 2008, when Mike Mahoney(Apraizal, How’s Casney?) met Bjorn Andersen(Pooch Carver, Avernus) in Lake Villa, IL. The two were going through tough times and sought a way to express the raw emotions that were created by their dark pasts. The two found that their styles mixed to form something new, unique, and therapeutic!! Neither member was any good at singing, so when they got together with singer/ song-writer/ producer, Doug Smith( Pooch Carver, Palmetto, Avernus) amazing recordings began to appear! The three are currently in the process of getting recognition, playing magical performances and evolving as recording artists. Truly, music from the lost and beautiful, for the lost and beautiful. Enjoy!!!

  27. http://www.myspace.com/throwthefight
“Rock and roll is everything,” says Throw The Fight’s Ryan Baustert. “To us, there’s nothing else.”

It’s obvious by their aptly named full-length debut, In Pursuit of Tomorrow, that Baustert and his TTF collaborators have made the single-minded sacrifice to put it all on the line. It’s a D.I.Y., take-no-prisoners, gritty plea to be heard, and a passionate pitch for massive audiences, all of which Throw The Fight utterly deserve. “At the end of the day,” says singer James Clark, “we really feel with all the work we’ve put in and the music we make that we deserve this chance.”

Thousands already agree; the Minneapolis quintet is on the brink of hugeness having built a passionate fanbase through several years of gripping live shows. They’re a gifted bunch that has it all: work ethic, energy, ambition, and chops. Put it together and you’ve got the essential ingredients for success. “It’s exciting right now,” says Baustert, “because something new is coming up for us almost every day. Putting all that work in has finally started paying dividends.”

TTF earned one of their first big breaks back in 2006 when they were voted by their fans as one of the Top 10 Unsigned Bands by Alternative Press. The accolades brought attention, and that attention bred confidence. Making AP’s list had a direct impact on the band’s approach. Suddenly, Throw The Fight was on the map.

They wrote and recorded an EP, which secured the band a deal with Cordless Recordings. During this time the band embarked on a search for one key missing ingredient: the perfect frontman, which ended when they found Clark, a Brit who had relocated Stateside to attend high school and college. Once Clark was brought into the fold, TTF’s momentum surged. His voice — pitch-perfect and powerful — was the missing element.

It almost didn’t happen. “Minneapolis producer, Matt Kirkwold, called me up. He didn’t tell me what band he was speaking for,” says Clark. “He just told me he wanted me to audition and to bring in some lyrics.” That audition and those lyrics went on to produce one of TTF’s pivotal songs, “The Wreckage.”

The band believes that Clark’s work, and specifically “The Wreckage” helped TTF develop its persona. “It really helps us stand apart, and gives you a good idea of what we’re about. It’s guitar-driven and heavy, with catchy melodies and melodic vocals. It’s not simple stuff, but when we play it, people get it.”

Yeah, people get it. TTF has the “X factor” shared by successful acts like Killswitch Engage, Story of the Year, and Rise Against. The onstage force — seen nationally on 2007′s Warped Tour — is undeniable, and so are the melodies. In Pursuit of Tomorrow roars like fire tearing across a hayfield. In addition to “The Wreckage,” other key tracks include the radio ready, “It’s For You” and “His Blood, My Hands,” at the other extreme. “We tried to cover the whole spectrum of who we are as a band,” says Baustert.

They cover that spectrum in part because everyone contributes to the songwriting. “I’m used to writing everything on my own,” Clark admits. “But in Throw The Fight everyone shares the responsibility.”

The album’s opener, “Ready for War,” busts out with a tight blast of hard rock, aggressive vocals and the classic metal influenced dueling guitars of Baustert and Joey Ulrich. “Stop Yourself” brings the noise in the form of a thrashy Metallica chord figure only to give way to a catchy vocal melody and a friendly, sing-along hook. Throughout the disc they keep it brisk while adding passages of iron-heaviness, rockin’ riffs, and dizzying breakdowns.

In Pursuit of Tomorrow is an immense listen that keeps its audience unexpectedly off balance, wrung out and satisfied. Taking square aim with their big rock hooks and searing metal riffs, Throw the Fight demands to be heard loud and clear.

  28. KYRA says:

Kyra are a four-piece rock band from the Lake District, and These Precious Things is the bands new EP. Recorded in October 2009 at Long Wave Studio, Cardiff, the EP was produced by Romesh Dodangoda who’s long list of credits include bands such as Funeral For a Friend, Kids In Glass Houses, and The Blackout. These Precious Things is a painfully passionate look at love, loss, trust, and hope. Fueled by the heart felt lyrics and the distorted assault of guitars there is nothing comfortable or mundane about These Precious Things. Picture the ferocity of Refused, the unharnessed emotion of GlassJaw and the pop sensibilities of Taking Back Sunday and you may (or may not) get some clue of what Kyra is all about.

After years of tight-knit friendship and playing music, Kyra are ready to establish themselves as one of the most promising unsigned bands in the UK. With tons of shows under their belt; opening for bands such as The Ghost of a Thousand, Failsafe, Young Guns, My Passion, Fei Comodo, Saving Aimee, and The Nothing (to name a few) Kyra have turned heads with their energetic and enthralling live show. Their on-stage presence and originality have earned them praise from fans and piers alike and have no doubt made them a band to watch out for.

  29. Chris Beeble says:

The Say So is based out of Denver, CO and goes beyond adhering to any genre constriction. With influences ranging from Circa Survive and As Tall As Lions to Maroon 5 and Kings of Leon, this band bring a refreshing sound to a stale scene. They have headlined the Marquis Theatre as well as play at other established venues in Denver. They’ve been working hard in the studio for the past 5 months and are ready to start playing around again.

Let me know if you need any more info, it would be SO awesome if you could write an article about us. Thanks!

Hello! My name is Kevy Nova and I am more Alternative Rock than Metal but I still hope you get a chance to check me out. I released a self-produced CD last year titled Greatest Hits Volume I. People often describe my sound as “a cross between Nirvana and The Beatles.”

I write/record by myself (guitars, bass, drums, vocals, keys) and hire musicians to back me up for live shows. My live shows are very high-energy with a lot of spontaneity.

  32. She Screams Remedy is a female fronted rock band with influences from Thrice, Circa Survive, Envy on the Coast, and Brand New. They have dominant male and female vocals, and incorporate hardcore elements in alternative music. Nominated as one of Orange County’s Best New Artist of 2010, they’ve been published in Alternative Press, Skinnie, and Music Connection magazine. They have played a few Warped Tour dates, and opened for bands such as Scary Kids Scaring Kids, Saosin, DanceGavinDance, LoveHateHero, and more. They have a large myspace following and are very fan oriented. With one EP released on Itunes and a full length on the way, this DIY band is something to look out for.

    Bio from the myspace:

It’s hard to pinpoint where the story of She Screams Remedy begins, but one thing is for sure; 2009 has been a big chapter in their book, and the rest of the narrative is going to be vibrant, artistic and unimaginably adventurous. We rewind to early 2006, where Trevor Koch (Guitarist, Vocalist) and Tim Berman (Guitarist, Keys) were engaged in constant musical dialogue. Their goal was clear from the start, take the experiences they received from Southern California’s active music lore, and combine them with their vision of interactive evolved rock music to create a new style for a new generation. “Here’s how I would describe it,” says Tim, “we want to be inspired by other musicians and by our audience. We want to influence them, of course, but we also want them to influence us, I think that’s the best way for us to grow”. The two worked day-in and day-out to expand their musical horizons as friends, and also as individuals. Trevor sought the expertise of classical guitarists, musical theorists, and artists from virtually every sphere, and this curiosity led him to the study of music and philosophy at U.S.C. Tim, meanwhile, was looking to expand his technical arsenal, which resulted in editing software, a piano, and a drum machine becoming his three weapons of choice.

This developmental period moved them towards a crucial point in the exploration process. Trevor and Tim wanted to find a singer whose voice would not only bring the melodies of SSR alive, but also encourage listeners to perform with the band, while simultaneously inviting them to hear the meaning behind the sound. On a lucky Sunday afternoon in 2008, the Bay Area winds brought Kyrsten Gammon (Vocalist) in front of SSR’s doorstep, and she was a perfect fit. With an ethereal, almost dream-like voice that hits like lightning, Kyrsten’s fresh approach to harmonies and collaborative singing elevated the in-studio sessions and live performances to new heights. As the saying goes, “when it rains, it pours”. Within the same month that Kyrsten entered the mix, Chris Cisneros (Bassist) found his way into the group. A long time friend of the others, SSR’s dynamic became even more comfortable when he decided to join. Chris’ stage presence isn’t exactly easy to describe, but it’s certainly easy to see. Rumors are still circulating regarding his Guinness World Record as “The First Man to Swim the English Channel with only a Speedo and a Bass Guitar” as well as which skill he learned first, reading or head-banging. Whatever the case may be, SSR was glad to have him on board.

By early 2009, songs were being written, produced, and mastered. However, SSR was still waiting to add the final piece to the puzzle, a drummer. “At this stage for the band, it was like seeing everything through a kaleidoscope,” says Trevor, “each person’s picture was unique and represented their own style, but it hadn’t really formed one image yet”. Enter Anthony Agostinacci: the Italian Phenom. With a serious amount of experience under his belt (both screaming and playing for hardcore bands), he brought an accomplished originality to SSR’S rock sound, creating face-melting breakdowns and sensational drum rolls that shock you all over. Anthony’s journey to SSR was driven by a passion to identify himself by his love for music. “Oh I totally make the best of every moment; rocking out, playing music, this is what I love”, says Anthony. Where Anthony came from is still somewhat of a mystery, but for the record, it has been narrowed down to The Shire, The Midwest, Sesame Street, or Ridgecrest-California.

What started as two friends turned into a family of five, and the future is bright for SSR. At the moment, the biggest objective is the completion of their first full-length album (due to be released this fall), while continuing the trend of playing bigger shows and sharing more of their music. “Discovering your sound takes a while,” notes Chris, “but we are definitely getting there. I can see it after every show, because the band is having more fun each time”. She Screams Remedy wants their fans to be a part of every step along the way, and they want to write this next chapter in their book with you. In Kyrsten’s words, “SSR is going to be a band that never stops moving forward, music is our everything”.

Their music can be described as a mix of hardcore, progressive and metal. Similar bands that come to mind would be Misery Signals, Shai Hulud, and From a Second Story Window. One thing is for sure for the boys of The Chalet would rather not worry about what genre theyre put in but would prefer to focus more on composing a story with each song they write.

  34. “JWB rocks…Great songs, great production and plenty of attitude to spare.”

-Swede, Founder of the FatCat Radio Network (fatcatradio.com)

John Wilkes Booth is back with three new songs featured on The Trilateral Commission. The CD is a three-way split featuring the bands Twelve Eyes and Maegashira, along with JWB. The band contributed the songs “This Seat is Taken,” “Out From Under,” and “The Funky Laser Immune System Rickshaw (Amputee).” These songs will not disappoint the Booth fans who have eagerly been awaiting the fulfillment of promises for new tracks.

Their debut full-length release, Sic Semper Tyrannis (which included a previously recorded self-titled EP), sold around the world and received favorable reviews with the expectation for more. The Metal Minute stated: “If Merkle and company build on the strengths of their debut, they may soon give heavy music connoisseurs a new, fresher association with John Wilkes Booth.” Ray Van Horn, Jr. called the band,”… a rapidly-developing band you’re likely missing out on.” Michael Gasper noted, “This is one band to hang with. They will not be forced into a box anytime soon. Get ready for 15 tracks that will assassinate your ears.”

If you’ve never heard of the band, listen to what Ripple Music says of their music:

“This [is an] adrenalinized blast of what the boys affectionately call “dirt rock.” In truth, there’s no arguing that tag, this is dirty, ballsy, scuzzy and sleazy, hard biting, punked-up rock and roll. What the boys don’t tell you however, are the masses of nasty little critters living in their dirt. A dirty, nasty trip and one you’ll thank your lucky stars you took.”

Since the formation of the band in 2005, the band has consistently recorded and played live shows while continually escalating their fan base. In May of 2008, Aural Fix, a Long Island magazine covering the local music scene, featured the band on the front cover. In 2007, John Wilkes Booth was chosen as a featured band on Fatcat Radio as well as selected as band of the week for Joe’s Podhole. In June of that year, they were voted by listeners as band of the month on local radio station, Radiox. Their debut “Sic Semper Tyrannis” appeared on several Top 10 Lists such as FatCat Radio in Detroit & Rockharder blog out of Sweden.

The band’s popularity has also featured the foursome playing shows along the east coast with such national acts as The Hidden Hand, La Otracina, Zoroaster, Puny Human, Solace, Wooly Mammoth, and Wrecketh. The NY Speed Coalition reviewed the Booth show at Bar 131 and stated, “The dirt rock assassins played an absolutely flawless set of bone shattering, ground shaking hard rock.” In September 2009, JWB was asked to play the Stoner Hands of Doom 10th Annual Festival in Maryland. They are currently writing songs for their next release and looking for a few national dates.

Whether you are new to the band or a seasoned fan, listen to The Trilateral Commission and let John Wilkes Booth’s new tracks hit you like a bullet in the head.

  35. WORTH THE FIGHT.

    Progressive/ Metal/ Hardcore

Bands around the Alabama area that have elected to play aggressive genres of music all have the same trouble of getting up and out, as have many bands all over the world. But to achieve victory in this day of age, you need to have conviction, talent, and strong belief, factors that has lead Birmingham, Alabama based band, Worth the Fight to their current point. A band virtually starting out in July of 2009, with no sign of stopping or slowing down. Worth the fight has been drawing eyes and ears for the past year, through their heavy and storming live performances and though their music is comprised of two steps, breakdowns, guitar solos, gang vocals, double bass drum fills, and strong screams, there remains a melody behind it all which makes each song driving from beginning to end and draws its listener in and holds onto them tightly. They remain known for their catchy lyrical hooks and choreographed breaks, which in turn shows they aren’t lacking in the knowledge of “how to” gain attention from their ever growing fan base. The Alabama based band is set to hopefully make their mark with their upcoming release “Conflict” their first full length album, written by Worth the Fight and recorded with producer Jud White. “Conflict” is set to release October 15th, 2009. A release from indie label, “First Chair Records”.

    WORTH THE FIGHT is:
    Ricky – Vocals
    Royce – Drums
    Brandon – Guitar
    Aaron – Guitar
    Beck – Bass

  37. Carnage says:

    http://www.myspace.com/nekromorphosis

Nekro Morphosis was spewed forth from the waste of Washington in the year 2000. Nine years later with the completion of the line up with Guldrelokk on drums, Chad on bass, and founding member Carnage on guitar and vocals the once solo project has become one of the most progressive, raw, evil and brutal black metal acts around. Nekro Morphosis combines constant brutality mixed with riffs that will bring any true metal head back to the glory days of extreme metal and of course all while injecting their own chaotic spin on things. After releasing the first full length, a split with fellow Washington band Drakul, and a limited live album, Nekro Morphosis has begun writing new material for their next full length to be released sometime in 2010.

  38. Denver has no shortage of young, hungry metalcore bands. The Skyline Surrender isn’t any less ambitious than the rest – but its debut EP, This Is Character, shows that the quartet has more than just high hopes. The disc draw equally from the metallic undertow of Darkest Hour and the anthemic swell of Underoath, anchored in a solid songcraft that balances atmosphere and sheer force. And when the group drops into the inevitable breakdowns – be they diabolically brutal or angelically harmonized – the result feels dramatic and dynamic rather than rote. As a taste of things to come, Character shows that the Skyline Surrender already has a passion and maturity that takes most bands years to develop. Where the act goes from here is anyone’s guess – but it’s highly doubtful they’ll be going there quietly. – Jason Heller/Westword

  42. Execution Protocol was formed in the spring of 2009 out of the ashes of the Los Angeles based death metal outfit, Eyes In The Fog. However, the band’s roots in the LA metal scene run much deeper than that. Before forming Execution Protocol, guitarist/vocalist, Christian “The Warden” La Rocca and drummer, Ken “Firing Squad” Giron performed in the LA-based progressive metal band, Purgatory’s Gate, which racked up 8 official releases and two US tours before disbanding. Execution Protocol’s roots in the LA metal scene don’t stop there, as bassist/vocalist, Nelson “Lethal Injektor” Miranda served time with seminal LA death metallers, Getto Death before they disbanded. Getto Death were a constant in the scene with countless opening slots on major national shows, local headlining shows and features on local television. With the addition of guitarist, Johnny “The Guillotine” Nichols (ex-The King Is Dead), Execution Protocol have crafted a sound more focussed and brutal than any of their combined previous efforts. Their debut EP, “Precursor To The Apocalypse” is a colossal effort filled with blood curdling screams, crushing blasts, and grim guitar work that all-at-once pays tribute to the old school of death and black metal while forging a new path into madness and terror. Execution Protocol advises you to take heed or prepare for execution!

  43. We’re just a band from a mountain town in California. We are only two kids, and we want to keep it that way and not over-complicate things with more members. One of us is in high school, the other just graduated. Patrick Hogan plays drums and does vocals. Jacob Lee plays guitars, bass, and records and produces all the music. We are almost going to release our second full length home-made CD, called /b/ears!!1!11. Our first is called Peanut-Butter Radio. We like to do things differently and to break the false rules and standards of music, and express how we feel music and art should be expressed. We like to have fun and be silly and in some of our songs that is obvious, but our passion for music is obvious as well, I think. We connect ourselves most with bands like See You Next Tuesday, Psyopus, iwrestledabearonce, Tony Danza Tapdance Extravaganza, and other bands like that whom we love. I don’t even know if I used “whom” correctly. Of course, becoming famous in any sense of the word would be incredible and very convenient, but we’re just two best friends who like to play, so, like, whatever, you know? And any help with exposure is always immensely appreciated, cuz we love making new friends. =]

Anyway, yeah, this was fun. Let’s get tea sometime.
Oh, and we’re also triple-ex ex ex straightedge vegetarian hardcore, bro. Hellllll yeah! Lullzzzzzzzzz

Hey, I love Highwire Daze & I’d really love to see Dropping A Popped Locket reviewed on your site. I’ve been a fan of DAPL for over a year now & the music never ceases to amaze me. It’s a mix of electronica, hardcore, hip hop, & pop but trust me no two songs sound the same. It’s only one guy, Jay Spizzy, who makes it all & he’s already got like 10 cds out on iTunes WITHOUT being signed to a label. I don’t know how he does it but please please review his band on your site: http://www.myspace.com/droppingapoppedlocketmain
