WAR ANNOUNCE DEBUT 7″ AT WAR FOR YOUTH

WAR PREMIERE “BRODERMORDET” via PITCHFORK

War are pleased to announce their debut 7″ At War For Youth coming February 21st on Sacred Bones Records.

The ongoing collaboration consists of Copenhagen DIY Punk stalwarts Iceage frontman Elias Bender Rønnenfeltand and Sexdrome frontman Loke Rahbek, who co-runs the label Posh Isolation. Elias describes their Copenhagen scene as, “very closely knit… a big group of friends who have a very good growing ground for making music and other things.” They do everything from putting on shows, and playing music together to running their own stores and labels. Between the two of them a rich lineage of musical history and influences can be traced.

At War For Youth, recorded last summer to four-track cassette, is being released on February 21st as a 7″ through Sacred Bones Records. It consists of double A-side “At War For Youth” and “Kains Mærke,” backed by “Brodermordet” which recounts the biblical tale of Cain and Abel’s fratricide. The 7″ was recorded in a basement using analog synth, pedals, drums and guitar, both members sing and play a bit of everything. The result is a compelling and utterly unique new genre perfect for those who revel in lo-fi post-punk threnody and would dance the night away on the eve of the apocalypse.
