“X” Marks The Spot: Everyone Dies In Utah premieres powerful new track

Struggling with maintaining positive mental health is something that can affect anyone and bringing awareness is crucial as it makes people know they’re not alone in their dark times. It’s that feeling of being there for someone is what inspired the new track that sheds light on the often not discussed topic of depression and suicide. As May is Mental Health Awareness month, Everyone Dies in Utah is proud to premiere their powerful new single, “X,” that shows listeners that others are experiencing similar struggles and that it’s okay to not be okay; things will get better and there are people in this world that do care.

Taking inspiration from his own life, vocalist Danny Martinez was candid about how depression has touched his loved ones. Martinez shared, “I wrote “X” for my fiance who struggles with depression. I do everything in my power to make her happy but sometimes her mind just takes her to a dark place and all I can really do it just be there for her. That’s what this song is all about, having someone in your life that is struggling with depression or suicidal thoughts and doing all you can for them; even when you really don’t know what there is you can do.”

Sometimes it’s that feeling of knowing you’re not alone is the one comfort that can help those who are battling their own demons. For many people, music is an outlet they can turn to when life has it’s dark moments. Knowing that a song can help get you through a difficult time is quite incredible and EDIU wants fans to know that no matter what, they’ll always be there through the good and the bad.

Being a veteran band of ten years now, EDIU has been through a lot over the course of their career. This track is special to the band not only for it’s story but the name itself is symbolism for the ten year anniversary of the band’s first ever live performance that happened on May 31, 2008. Experiencing the ups and downs of the industry, EDIU proves that they are still going strong and will continue to make meaningful songs that their fans can relate to.

In addition to the new single, the band looks forward to hitting the Warped Tour stage this summer on the festivals final run. Fans can catch the band on the Full Sail University Stage 7/6-7/8.

About Everyone Dies In Utah:

Everyone Dies in Utah is an American metal band from Temple, Texas. Formed in 2008 by Danny Martinez and Dustin Dow. The name of the band began as a joke, but stuck with them as time went on. It derives from the fact that the death rate in Utah was at one time higher than any other state. Everyone Dies In Utah consists of Danny Martinez (Lead Vocals, Screams), Trey Golden (Keys, Synth), Nathan Chase-Meadows (Drums), Daniel Tharp (Bass), Brandon Allen (guitar) and Dustin Dow (guitar).

Everyone Dies In Utah has attracted a loyal fan base from their self-released EP (“I Hope You Know This Means War”), four full length albums (“Seeing Clearly”, “Polarities”, “Neutral Ground” and their InVogue Records debut self-titled album). The band takes pride in being accessible to their fans and, in turn, tour extensively so they can create deeper connections with their audience. They’ve shared the stage and tour with well-known names like Memphis May Fire, The Color Morale, Affiance, Sirens and Sailors, Alesana, and Suicide Silence.

2018 marks the 10th anniversary of the band and they don’t plan on stopping anytime soon. Their newest single “X” is the follow up to their InVogue Records self titled release set to be released on May 31, 2018. (The exact 10th anniversary of the band’s first ever show)
