Introduce yourself, tell me what you do in Pretty Vicious, and how long the band has been together.
I’m Jarvis and I play bass guitar in Pretty Vicious. The band has been together almost 5 years, we formed in late 2014.

Where is the band based out of and what is your local music scene like there?
The band is based in The Valleys in Wales, Merthyr Tydfil. There is definitely a scene for music in Merthyr, there is a lot of cool small music venues which local bands play most weekends. It’s good to see, and great for the town.

Is there any overall story or concept behind the lyrics to the recent single “These Four Walls?”
It’s basically about going to a gig and the music just taking control, the venue falling apart, and leaving you in the mess of the remains. It’s a rock and roll banger.

Select any other Pretty Vicious song and what inspired the lyrics.
Are You Entertained?” was written in a sarcastic way, we knew it was going to be towards to end of the album, so it’s more of a sarcastic statement, we thought it was quite clever anyway.

What could one expect from a live Pretty Vicious show?
Crazy, fucked up carnage, and that’s just on stage, out front is even more fucked.

What were your impressions of Las Vegas when you played your sold out show there? Any big time gambling or lucky winners within the band?
There’s an old saying, ‘a fool and his money are easily parted…’ Las Vegas is pretty much summed up in that one sentence.

Any chance of Pretty Vicious returning to the States for a tour?
Yeah, we are actually in the States in April and May. We have a support tour with Badflower, we’re also playing some festivals and some headline dates of our own.

If Pretty Vicious could open for any band either now or from the past, who would it be and why?
Present: Queens of the Stone Age, definitely. Past: I would have to say Nirvana.

The Queen Of England invites Pretty Vicious to play one song from her and guests at a Royal Command Performance. What song would you play for Her Majesty and why?
I wouldn’t play, I would rather crap in my hands and clap.

What’s up next for Pretty Vicious?
Getting back to America and smashing these shows, we cannot wait. Also, the album release is imminent so look out for that!

Pretty Vicious are Brad Griffiths, Elliot Jones, Jarvis Morgan and Tom McCarthy.
