The mighty Accu§er has been flying the German flag of thrash metal since the 80’s, delivering massive, uncompromising albums of sheer audio carnage. In the pandemic year of 2020, Accu§er remains a dynamic strike force to be reckoned with, unleashing their twelfth great chapter of sonic infamy. This new release is Self-Titled, perhaps signifying the return of lead guitarist René Schütz and the premiere of their most striking endeavor to date. Those familiar with the Accu§er attacks of the past will surely realize the assault brought on by their Self-Titled manifesto as a crowning achievement for a band whose been flying under the radar here in the States for years.

Whether you are a fan of the unholy European trinity of Sodom, Kreator and Destruction or crave the American thrash brigade of Metallica, Anthrax and Megadeth, there is a treasure trove of artillery to be found within the Accu§er catalog. And their Self-Titled album is a terrific place to start, packed to the rafters with explosive thrash metal hymns. From the opening refrains of Misled Obedience to the punishing refrains of Phantom Graves and beyond, the gripping tapestries of Accu§er grab the listener by the throat with a relentless manic glee.

Temple Of All is the thrash metal anthem supreme and selections such as Lux in Tenebris and Rethink will bring on whiplash with all the breakneck head banging bound to ensue. Even the mid-tempo Be None The Wiser possesses an intensity that is absolutely staggering in scope. All this, and the one-two conclusion of Seven Lives and A Cycle’s End will pummel to bits whatever’s left of your remaining senses.

Accu§er Self-Titled is the thrash classic of 2020 that genre fans absolutely need to experience without delay. The ferocity of the modern day Accu§er is brought to you courtesy of Frank Thoms on vocals and guitar, René Schütz on lead guitar, Frank Kimpel on bass, and Olli Fechner on drums. And this just in – Accu§er has presented a free virtual live show entitled Thrash in a Box – Live from Vortex Surfer Musikclub on their YouTube channel featuring new and classic songs from a truly vast and epic career!
