The Vans Warped Tour 2025 Interviews – Perro Muri of Hardcastle
The Vans Warped Tour not only has bands galore performing on its sold-out two-day run in Long Beach, but many musicians from all across the country were seen attending the event as well. Perro Muri of Hardcastle was among the local musicians attending his very first Warped Tour. Highwire Daze has been aiming to secure an interview with this amazing up and coming band for months – and the connection was made on the Sunday at Shoreline Waterfront in the early afternoon. Hardcastle is certainly a band destined to play Warped Tour on their own one day, but for now, Perro was there as a music fan. And it was time to do our long-awaited interview with the bassist of Hardcastle. Read on…
We’re here with Perro of Hardcastle doing an impromptu interview at the Vans Warped Tour. So Perro, what are you looking forward to the most about Warped Tour today?
Oh man, yesterday was absolutely awesome – the vibes were immaculate. Today I’m just looking forward to continuing that and seeing some cool bands. I’m really looking forward to Dropkick Murphys, Dance Hall Crashers, Johnnie Guilbert – I’ve got some buddies playing there.
Is there your first time going to Warped?
Oh yeah, it’s my first time. I’m very much impressed by the atmosphere and I’m super happy. It’s a fun time.
Hardcastle has never played Warped Tour.
Not yet.

How did you wind up in Hardcastle?
That’s a funny story. I went to a show – a buddy was opening up for Hardcastle. And that buddy is actually Aram – the current drummer of Hardcastle. So, I went to see his old band open up for Hardcastle. We all kind of – by divine intervention or something – kind of crossed paths there. And then after that, I started jamming with Graham. I talked to him after the show, and we were really vibing with each other and he asked if I knew any guitarists. I said I was one and we started jamming there. And then we eventually brought in Aram as a drummer. And I went on bass guitar, and that’s the three-piece lineup we’ve got.
What do you think of our local Los Angeles music scene?
I owe everything to the Los Angeles music scene. Everyone from the audiences to the bands themselves – all the people I’ve met through the music scene. I’ve met most of my closest friends through the music scene – all these talented musicians. I’m just really thankful to the scene for providing that community. It’s such an open community – such good vibes. I’m just very thankful for it, for sure.
You did a Three Clubs show for Tommy London. How did that go?’
That was a great show – we had a lot of fun. We had a lot of family, friends and fans come out. I’m thankful to each and every one of them. It was a great time. Always love playing at Three Clubs – great venue – great vibes there as well. And many thanks to Tommy London – he was super cool. Thanks for getting us on that really cool bill. The Darbies were playing – they’re a killer band. That was a really fun night.
Two Hardcastle songs – Mundane and Back To You – have over five million plays each on Spotify. What do numbers like that even mean to you?
Oh man! Looking at that number – it’s crazy! It takes a lot of hard work to get up to those numbers. I’m so thankful to everyone that listens every day and gives us an opportunity to go out and do these shows for them.
You just covered Interstate Love Song by Stone Temple Pilots. How did that come about, and have they heard it?
Oh god, I don’t know if they’ve heard it, but that would be amazing! That would be so cool! Stone Temple Pilots – we’re all massive fans of 90’s music and Stone Temple Pilots is a massive, massive inspiration for us. A massive influence really ever since I started writing music and ever since I started listening to it. I was in another band – Nuclēaria – and Interstate Love Song was the favorite song of our late guitarist Jay. And it was just really, really nice to be able to cover one of his favorite songs.

So, it’s Perro’s choice – if Hardcastle could open for any band either now or from the past, who would it be and why?
Me personally, I think it would be so killer to open up for the All-American Rejects. Seeing them yesterday was an absolute dream come true. They’re so good! They’re a big inspiration for us – All-American Rejects. I think that would be a really cool show for us to open up for.
Are you involved with any other bands or projects outside of Hardcastle at the moment?
Not at the moment – just Hardcastle.
What’s up next for Hardcastle?
We’ve got a show on August 8th at Three Clubs. We’ve just been playing shows here and there, but our main priority right now – we’re actually writing our first album as this three-piece. The vibes in the studio are great, and we’re just so excited to get these songs out. We’ve been on a great run of writing. We’ve just been writing all these fuckin’ fun songs, so I’m just really exciting for everyone to hear them.
