Disobey EP by The Refusers (Self-released)

In the grand tradition of all things punk rock, The Refusers have arrived, and are more than ready to shake up the corrupt system and make you raise that fist high in air while doing it. The band has just released Disobey, a stunning two-song EP, providing a fantastic introduction to their liberating auditory odyssey! The spirit of rebellion is in the air, and the soundtrack to all this is found within the exhilarating sonnets The Refusers offer the world at large.

The defiance kicks off tenfold with the anthem-like refrains of Disobey featuring its “we’re going in the wrong direction, I can see it coming from a mile away” reprieves. Imagine The Stooges and The Buzzcocks raising a twisted little psychedelic child hellbent on revolution, and this would be the very song the offspring would write. Disobey should be infecting the worldwide radio airwaves with its gripping lyrics and wickedly infectious choruses!

And then there’s Go Back To Sleep, a punk rock power ballad dedicated to all the sheeple of this Planet Earth. Once again, very persuasive lyrics wrapped in a ripping tune that will jangle on in your head for ages!

The Refusers include the sweeping talents of Michael Belkin (songs, guitar, vocals), Brendan Hill (drums), Eric Robert (Nord Keyboards), Joe Doria (Hammond Organ), and Steve Newton (bass and background vocals). Each and every musician place a good deal of passion and drive into their brilliantly subversive sonnets.

The Refuser have opened for the likes of The Black Keys, Kings of Leon, Joan Jett, X, Jane’s Addiction, Black Crowes, Alabama Shakes and The Flaming Lips. It won’t be long before The Refusers start to headline their very own rock and roll revolution – especially if they keep on releasing songs this epic! Stay tuned!
