Free Minds by Redeem/Revive (Stay Sick Recordings)
Based out of the thriving Southern California music scene, Redeem/Revive has spent a good amount of time in local clubs such as Chain Reaction in Anaheim and Malone’s in Santa Ana, paying their proverbial dues and making a good amount of fans along the way. It was only a matter of time before this local band on the rise found themselves signed to the dotted line of a recording contract – and with their new deal on Stay Sick Recordings (owned by Fronz of Attila), it truly looks like Redeem/Revive will crash headfirst in the big leagues at long last.
Their debut for Stay Sick is entitled Free Minds, and judging by the 10 gripping cuts heard within, expect 2017 to be a breakthrough year for these hard working, massively talented musicians!
Free Minds opens with the absolutely stunning reveries if Revive, where the clean vocals muse “It’s taken all this time – I hope to God it’s worth it” before exploding into a rapturous post hardcore anthem. Call To Arms continues the powerhouse compositions, with a chorus that fearlessly expressed the true sounds of perseverance. Then it’s time for a visit from the supremely dark and ominous Omen. The Cataclysm (of a Dying Fate) is a standout showing Redeem/Revive at their most persuasive. All I’ve Done commences with a soothing guitar interlude before exploding into a sonnet of all-out heated intensity.

The musicianship found within Redeem/Revive is first rate, consisting of Aldo Escobedo on vocals. Joshua Landon Peterson on vocals, Kriss Ceballos on guitar, Gerardo Rosales on bass, and Tony Valenzuela on guitar. Free Minds is a heartfelt testament that fans will want to revisit time and again – be sure to check into what Redeem/Revive has to offer and prepare to be thoroughly swept away by this debut recording from a tremendously impassioned collective!
