The Soft White Sixties

Introduce yourself, what band you are in, and how long your band has been together.
I’m Aaron Eisenberg and I play guitar in The Soft White Sixties. This is our 7th year as a band.

What are you looking forward to the most about this year’s edition of the Malibu Guitar Festival?
The beach seems like a good location to try out some new material.

What could we expect from your performance at the Festival?
Sweat.

Who is your favorite guitarist of all time and how do you they inspire you?
It’s a toss up between George Harrison and Peter Green, but since this festival is in Malibu let’s go with Mike Campbell as a great combination of the two.

What is your own guitar of choice and why?
My ’68 Guild Starfire.

What advice would you give someone about to attend a four day Malibu Guitar Festival adventure?
This is a first time for me too but I would think sunscreen is a good place to start.

What is up next for your band after the Malibu Guitar Festival?
A few more club and festival shows over the summer in support of our most recent release, “The Ocean Way EP“. We also just finished a new LP with Elijah Thomson that we can’t wait to release later this year.

WRENN

Introduce yourself, what band you are in, and how long your band has been together.
Hey, I’m Zoe, the lead singer and guitarist from the band WRENN. The WRENN project has existed for about a year now, but this reincarnation of the band with the permanent players – we have now has existed for about three months. This revitalization of the band is really incredible, and I can’t wait for everyone to hear it.

What are you looking forward to the most about this year’s edition of the Malibu Guitar Festival?
How diverse and talented all of the acts are musically.

What could we expect from your performance at the Festival?
Our performance will make you want to dance and will allow you to reach a large range of your emotions.

Who is your favorite guitarist of all time and how do you they inspire you?
Jimmy Page and the inspiration is pretty obvious.

What is your own guitar of choice and why?
I’m definitely a Fender player. I just got my hands on their new duo sonic and I absolutely love it; definitely my favorite guitar right now.

What advice would you give someone about to attend a four day Malibu Guitar Festival adventure?
Drink lots of water, get to the front of the shows, and don’t be afraid to talk to strangers.

What is up next for your band after the Malibu Guitar Festival?
The biggest thing we have coming up after the festival is the release of our debut EP “Good Mo(u)rning” coming out this Summer. I’m incredibly proud of the sound we’ve currated together and I can’t wait for everyone to hear it. We’re also planning a small run in June on the west coast with some friends of ours, so we’re really hyped to get back on the road.
