Meet Jacob Cade: Massively Talented and Ready To Rock Your World

Jacob Cade is a name you’ll be hearing a lot more about in future days.  On his upcoming EP entitled Hunger, Jacob has worked with members of Skid Row, Halestorm, and Winger.  In addition, Jacob is gearing up for a tour with none other than Bobaflex – ready to rage in venues all across the nation.  Highwire Daze recently caught up with this artist on the rise to find out more about his just unveiled new single What’s Your Problem?, collaborating on songs with such well respected artists, the upcoming Bobaflex adventure, and other rip roaring topics of intrigue.  Read on as we discover Jacob Cade – a massively talented musician ready to rock your world in an epic way….

What was the name of the very first song you wrote, how old were you, and what was that song about?
The very first song I wrote was called “Rollercoaster” and I was 10 yrs old when I wrote it. The song was literally about the experience of riding a roller coaster and the adrenaline that came with it.

What is the inspiration behind the lyrics of your just released single What’s Your Problem?
Basically it stems from my being fed up with people always finding a problem with me. Basically it’s a message to people who feel excluded or different or outcast. I say that it is good to be different. Nobody that was normal ever did anything meaningful in this world.

How did Rachel of Skid Row become involved with What’s Your Problem and what was it like working with him?
I was able to meet and work with Rachel Bolan through Michael Wagener making the connection. It was amazing working with him. Such an awesome talent and I was very honored to be able to bring my skills along with his to the table and come out with a kick ass song.

Where are you based out of and what is your music scene like there?
I am from Parker, Colorado. The music scene is all right here. Not as big as Nashville though.

How close are you to writing and recording an all-new EP or album?
Just about to release my newest EP called “Hunger” in January or February of 2018 that was produced by Michael Wagener and consists of songs with co-writers: Lzzy Hale & Joe Hottinger of Halestorm, Rachel Bolan of Skid Row, Paul Taylor of Winger and Michael Salacuse.

When you look back on your previous album The Prince of Rock N Roll, what do you think of it now?
I feel proud of it and happy that I recorded it. It was a stepping stone to becoming a better songwriter and musician. Just as “Hunger” is as well.

What are you looking forward to the most about your upcoming tour with Bobaflex?
I am most looking forward to being able to play every night to a new city. Sharing my music with as many people as possible during the time we’ll be out on tour.

What could one expect from a live Jacob Cade show?
One would expect a high energy and in your face show that will leave you stunned and wanting more.

What was it like working with Lzzy and Joe of Halestorm?
It was surreal and amazing. I have been a fan of Halestorm for a long time and to be able to meet and work with Lzzy and Joe in the same day was outrageously cool. Felt like a dream. I learned a lot and I can’t thank them enough for how accepting they were of me.

If you could open up for any band either now or from the past, who would it be and why?
I would choose to open up for Slash feat. Myles Kennedy and the Conspirators. Not only because they are one of my favorite bands of all time but because I feel as though our music would please the crowd that is there to see them. Both of our sounds fit well together.

Any strange or scary happenings on the road or at a show?
The strangest thing that’s ever happened to me at a show was when a drunk man decided he wanted to play my guitar during one of my songs. Had to shove him off the stage a little bit lol.

If your music was a donut, what kind would it be and why?
It would definitely be a chocolate or glazed with fruit loops or cereal on top. The donut represents the Rock n Roll/Old school feel of the music and the cereal represents the modern “Jacob Cade” twist to it.

What kind is the awesome two headed guitar you are playing in the Ball And Chain video and how long have you been playing guitar overall?
That guitar is an Epiphone SG double neck. As soon as I am able to I will be getting a Gibson. Such a versatile and awesome looking guitar I love it! I have been playing guitar overall for about 9 years now.

What’s up for you in the New Year?
New release of my album and so far we have 3 shows and adding more.
Jan. 19th opening for Winger at Herman’s Hideaway in Denver.
February 3rd opening for Autograph at Herman’s Hideaway as well.
February 22 in Las Vegas at the Hard Rock Hotel.

Any final words of wisdom?
Follow what you believe in. Never let anyone stop you because it IS possible.
