How did the Like Totally 80’s Festival come about?
As concert promoters and festival creators we saw a genre we liked and felt we could do well with so we contacted bands.
What could one expect from this year’s edition of the Like Totally 80’s Festival?
Great performers in a unique environment. We bring the bands to a sunshine filled day with the ocean in front of you. And this to me is the best way to see the show and feel like you’re in the best place ever.
What advice would you give anyone attending an all-day outdoor festiva at the beach for the first time?
Comfortable shoes. Sunscreen and a healthy appetite we have a dozen food trucks and a full bar.
What are you the most excited about with The Human League’s headlining performance?
Just bringing this caliber of talent to a unique concert venue like the beach.
Have you heard the current releases from The Motels and Gene Loves Jezebel with Jay Aston and what do you think of them?
Love both bands immensely and the records are amazing! Pick them up or download them asap!
What is your overall favorite 80’s song and why?
Too many to name, but the bands performing, I have vinyl from all of them. The Alarm, The Motels and Dramarama are amazing with Only the Lonely and Spirit of 76 leading the list.
What is your overall favorite 80’s movie and why?
Breakfast Club because we all can relate to one of them.
What is the most challenging part of putting together a show as ambitious as the Like Totally 80’s Festival?
Finding a solid line up and making the show an enjoyable experience.
Why do you think music from the 80’s remains so popular and revered after all of this time by music fans of all ages?
Its fun and makes you recall a time when we were a little more carefree.
Any final words of wisdom?
Keep live music going and support shows. The bands thrive on it and all genres need fans to support. Get off the web, and go see shows!
