VAIN and Leather Duchess at The Whisky

VAIN and Leather Duchess, The Whisky, November 9, 2018

VAIN

Rock and roll is certainly not dead, especially at the world famous Whisky A Go Go deep in the heart of the Sunset Strip. It was a raging Friday night featuring the notorious VAIN headlining the iconic West Hollywood night club and the up-and-coming Leather Duchess in direct support. Opening with the sizzling refrains of Secrets from their landmark 1989 magnum opus No Respect, VAIN launched into a fierce set of anthems that had the entire audience rapturously singing along.

With the recent release of a brand new album Rolling With The Punches and an entire treasure trove of classic material, VAIN remains a collective on fire with a live show that is not to be missed! Selections such as Love Drug, Icy, Down For The Third Time, and of course No Respect tantalize the senses and leave the listening craving a whole lot more! In addition to a blistering performance from Davy Vain on lead vocals, the dynamic VAIN 2018 membership features Ashley Mitchell on bass, Dylana (aka D.N.) Nova on guitar, Tom Rickard on drums, and newest member Joel Proto on guitar.  In 2018, VAIN remain as captivating as ever, ready to rock your world in nothing short of an epic way!

Leather Duchess

With a recent interview in the L.A. Weekly, and a full length debut entitled Gunslinger, Leather Duchess is beginning to receive a good amount of attention within the famed Los Angeles music scene and beyond. And these guys certainly know how to put on a live show, in the grand tradition of Guns N’ Roses and Mötley Crüe. It was a party of explosive proportions when Leather Duchess took over the stage, winning over the earlier arrivals with a fully loaded presentation. This was their second time opening for VAIN at The Whisky, and Leather Duchess delivered the sizzling goods tenfold!

Tyler Heath is the wickedly charismatic front man of Leather Duchess, unleashing the lyrics with a good time, fiery intensity. Marc Edgar and Sean Pierre ripped it to shreds on dueling guitars! And what a thunderous rhythm section Leather Duchess maintains, consisting of the dynamic performances of Lucca Rizzi on bass and Jake Wolf on drums. Songs such as Open Fire, On My Knees, and Altar Of Love definitely enraptured the crowd. And the title track Gunslinger could be played all over the rock and roll radio airwaves! Such a fun show from a band we are all destined to hear a lot more from in future days ahead.
