To reinvent the wheel is to not rob it of its direction. Every single year, Desert Daze manages to reinvent the idea of the Music Festival. Though this may sound a little too romanticized, it is true. To be in the festival game today means to cater to all wallets. Too often, festivals sacrifice quality of artistry, ambience, and community for pure profit. Desert Daze’s lineup has lined up people that just respect music. A great work of art is free of its category and Desert Daze isn’t a type of festival. Desert Daze is just good music ready for receiving ears of all years.

Desert Daze is growing into itself. By bringing in artists that deviate from the expected and simultaneously conform to the confines of personalized taste, Desert Daze is redefining its own definition. Every year their voice develops and matures into one that understands itself.

Highwire Daze will be covering the music, the lifestyle, and the people of Desert Daze. Last year we stepped into the artist with interviews from Jarvis Cocker, Slowdive, and King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard. This year we want to extend our coverage for those hungry to hear about the historical lineup. With Devo, the Flaming Lips, and Shintaro Sakamoto, Desert Daze is ensuring that they stomp a stamp onto the pages of history. Were going to help them document that history.
