The Sonic World of Lowfye50
In the vast and sweeping platforms of social media, finding passionate artists with raw talent is one of many rewards for music fans looking for something new to experience. One of the artists currently making a name for himself on Instagram and beyond is Lowfye50, whose introspective compositions are imaginative and distinctly memorable. With songs as intoxicating as Stay Away and Natalia, it won’t be long until record labels and the general public start venturing into the sonic world of Lowfye50. Highwire Daze interviewed Lowfye50 to discover a bit more about this intriguing artist on the rise. Read on…
What was the name of the very first song you wrote, how old were you, and what was the song about?
The name of the very first song I ever wrote was a song called “Purely Filthy.” I was around 13 I believe and it was just about the fucked up home life I had .Just a song about my daily routine of coming in from school to arguing family members and just locking and isolating myself in my room to learn guitar until the next day. Rinse then repeat.
And now on to present day. Introduce yourself and tell me how long you have been recording as Lowfye50.
I’m Lowfye50 and I have been a artist for about 10 years now .
Where are you based out of and what is your local music scene like there?
I’m out of a small area in Louisiana called Alexandria where there isn’t much of a scene. Occasional metal groups if I had to determine a genre of coming from the area. Not much more then that .
Tell me about the upcoming Stay Away and the inspiration behind it.
“Stay Away “ is about the realization a person has once they have left something such as a relationship that might of actually been good for them. So yourself or the other make an attempt to rekindle it only to realize that one of you have grown and moved on finally. Something myself and I’m sure others have faced before .
Natalia I believe is the last single you released in 2020. What is the inspiration behind the song?
Natalia is dedicated to my personal battle of growing up in a religious environment. I want to represent the battle to those who look up to me. I wrote the song with the intention of showing other that I’m not perfect, and I never will be. We can’t always be seen in a positive light and sometimes we have to go through the darkness to get what we seek. I just want to put out a message no matter how it comes out.
You’ve released quite a few singles in 2020. What has it been like to release new music in the middle of a pandemic and so much social unrest in the world?
Releasing music through a pandemic has been pretty normal to me personally besides the shit going on in the world my method and way of composing have pretty much been the same. I don’t really get out that much and usually isolate myself anyways when writing.
If you could open for any band or artist either now or from the past, who would it be and why?
If I could open up for any artist now it would probably be Post Malone to be honest just for the simple fact I would want to perform under a secular audience and someone who is killing shit currently. I feel in the longevity of things I get the best gain from competing and performing along side the competition in the industry .
If the music of Lowfye 50 was a donut what kind would it be and why?
If my music was a donut it would probably be just a regular ass glazed donut, it’s the donut everyone or most like and you can’t really go wrong with a safe bet choice. A flavor everyone can get down with 🤘🏻
Any final words of wisdom?
My words of wisdom would be just keeping digging until you find something worth a fuck or until it’s deep enough to bury yourself.
