DANNY GOO ANNOUNCES NEW EP CO-PRODUCED BY KEVIN THRASHER

BUTTERFLIES OUT JULY 15TH VIA ATONED MUSIC

LEAD SINGLE “SAFETY NET” OUT NOW

For years Danny Goo has been honing a pop-punk/sad-rap cocktail thatโ€™s now suddenly super-hot. Dropping on Atoned Music on July 15th, his sophomore EP Butterflies makes an ultra-authentic grab for mainstream ubiquity alongside the likes of Machine Gun Kelly, Travis Barker and Avril Lavigne. In the meantime, his heartfelt lead single “Safety Net” is now available worldwide via digital service providers. In addition, the song is already building steam with the addition to Spotify-curated All New Rock playlist.

โ€œWhen you fall in love with someone you get that excited feeling, those butterflies,โ€ recalls pop-punk/sad-rap artist Danny Goo. โ€œThis EP is a rollercoaster of my emotions from my past relationship. โ€˜Safety Netโ€™ is about needing to feel some type of stability in life. Whether itโ€™s your love life, your career or your faith – everyone needs that safety net to fall back on. Itโ€™s about me admitting and recognizing that what makes me feel secure is love.โ€

Following a recent move with co-creator/producer JoJo Centineo from their native Dallas to Los Angeles and attracting heavy-hitter producer Kevin Thrasher (Travis Barker, Machine Gun Kelly, Avril Lavigne), Goo is perfectly poised for the next level โ€“ and beyond. โ€œIโ€™ve learned so much from moving out of my hometown,โ€ Goo vows. โ€œI have amazing scenery and tons of influence all around me. Iโ€™ve been able to collaborate with more people and the sessions are more challenging which forced me to apply myself to becoming a better writer. Overall, it made me a stronger person and a better musician because now I know what it takes.โ€

Gooโ€™s trademark heart-worn Gen Z love songs are all the more impactful on Butterflies thanks to Thrasherโ€™s guitar-oriented touch and collabs with Lil Lotus, Rich Zahnhiser (The Hippos), and Daniel Wonacott (Finch). Itโ€™s a lineup that reflects an inclusive, genre-blending sound that embraces emocore and emo rap, 2000s pop-punk, classic R&B melodies, and unashamed pop sensibilities, all enhanced with innate charisma and utterly here-and-now production.

Butterflies continues Gooโ€™s vulnerable, confessional exploration of young love and loss. Distorted guitars and propulsive beats juxtaposed against auto-tuned melodicism and huge, optimistic hooks to create something both intimate and otherworldly, escapist yet super-relatable.โ€‹โ€‹
