Morning In May Share Emotional Christmas Track “I’ll Sit On My Own Lap”
Pop-rock band, Morning In May, are sharing their brand new Christmas themed song, “I’ll Sit On My Own Lap,” via Ghost Killer Entertainment, on December 6, just in time for the holiday season. The track is a follow-up to the band’s recently released cover of Chappell Roan’s “Pink Pony Club.”
Morning In May creates an emotional track laced in nostalgia with “I’ll Sit On My Own Lap.” The band strings together lyrics of relatability as they highlight how the holidays might not always bring the joy that is commercialized.
“I was trying to write the most real Christmas song I could. I wanted to write an autobiography in song about growing up and the reality of Christmas. I wanted the song to have a raw untouched feel so we just did stripped down acoustic song in my living room as if we were playing the song live right next to you.” – Jake Bartolic, lead vocalist.
Fans can catch Morning In May on the What Have You Done Tour in February 2025 with support from Chasing Satellites. See dates below.

The band continues to highlight their ability to create addictive songs such as “Table Etiquette,” produced by Matt Malpass (Blink 182, Machine Gun Kelly, Lil Lotus.) Along with their full-length studio album Dead Set Slander, that has incorporated the throwback emo feel of the 2000’s to the new electronic and modern sound of today.
