Ultimate Jam Night at The NAMM Show – Live Review

Ultimate Jam Night, The NAMM Show, The Anaheim Convention Center, Anaheim, CA., January 24, 2025
I had the opportunity to go to Ultimate Jam Night on Friday January 24th, 2025, and it definitely was a night to remember. The opening band started at 7pm, and concluded around 11pm. The line-up was by far the best line up I have ever seen. A slew of so many talented musicians. I arrived early to catch as many musicians as I could come across the red carpet, and catch a picture of them. This was an experience I will never forget, and cherish forever. I am a fairly new contributor for Highwire Daze Magazine, and this was my first big assignment, so just a tad nervous. The atmosphere on the red carpet was very chill, the musicians really loved the attention and were hamming it up for the photographers. There were about 5 photographers on the red carpet, and a videographer doing a small interview.

Once I got inside the venue, into the photo pit with a slew of other photographers all lined up as close to the stage as possible, to capture that perfect shot. In addition to the many talented musicians there was a full orchestra, and a children’s choir both doing back up musical instruments, and vocals from the amazing choir. I got to hear them perform with two of the musicians, and they really added a unique twist to each song. Each group of musicians performed 1-2 songs, but they all brought the heat to the stage at the Anaheim Convention Center.
One of the most memorable moments was when Paulie Z graced the stage, and belted out an opera song, it totally took the crowd by surprise. A true unforgettable experience, and you could hear his passion for performing. Also the variety of music everyone chose to perform was pure magic, and such a wide variety from Opera to Rock. I have gone to a few Ultimate Jam Nights at the Whisky a Go-Go, but this by far has been my favorite by far.
My favorite was a tie between Paulie Z, and Michael Starr who did some favorite 80’s music I grew up listening to. Michael Starr has a stage presence like no other, and he loves interacting with his bandmates, and the crowd. I am thankful that Highwire Daze gave me this assignment, and I will never forget my experience.
