Vedant Joshi, The Whisky, West Hollywood, CA., May 21, 2025

Vedant Joshi is a 28-year-old Indian born singer/songwriter, keyboard player, music director and music educator based within our local Los Angeles music scene. Highwire Daze recently met Vedant when he played keyboards with the massively talented Sakshi Chopra at Hotel Ziggy for the We Found New Talent (WFNT) music series curated by Grant Owens. Vedant would soon invite The Daze to his very own solo performance at The Whisky on Sunset Strip, opening for The Effigies. And there is no wonder Rolling Stone India called him an artist to watch, as Vedant Joshi and his very amazing band proceeded to unveil an absolutely thrilling set to a packed and very receptive audience.

Armed with a superbly expressive voice and a keyboard emitting a sweet sonic odyssey, Vedant Joshi is a captivating front man. And whether it’s the carefully chosen covers or his very own memorable originals, Vedant delivers the goods with a grand amount of passion and conviction. Opening with an exhilarating cover of the Radiohead classic 2+2=5, Vedant and his band captured the audience’s undivided attention. Aftertaste and Highway Man would follow, both original selections showing just how dynamic and perceptive of a singer / songwriter Vedant is! Then it was back to a few more very intriguing covers, with How Come U Don’t Call Me by Prince and Marseilles by Elijah Fox receiving remarkable interpretations.

Not only is Vedant Joshi a brilliant performer, but he has surrounded himself with some of the very best musicians here on the local L.A. music scene and beyond. With very limited rehearsal, the entire band exuded their own sense of intrigue and perfection into each and every note – including the epic talents of Brandon Fergusson on guitar, Trevor Boggs on guitar, Spencer Porter on saxophone, Hampus Isaksson on bass, and Dylan Diaz on drums.

Closing out the night with a rapturous rendition of Come Together by the Beatles, Vedant Joshi and his band had everyone joyously singing along. A stunning conclusion to be sure, leaving the audience transfixed and wanting to experience a whole lot more auditory artistry. I must concur with all the terrific press the devastatingly talented Vedant Joshi has been receiving – with an EP on the way and more live shows about to be scheduled, 2025 may very well be the year Vedant Joshi takes off above and beyond the City of Angels and into the stratosphere!
