Orianthi was back in Los Angeles, ready to ignite the legendary Whisky A Go Go with her trademark firestorm of guitar heroics. Best known for her axework with titans like Alice Cooper, Carlos Santana, and even Michael Jackson, Orianthi headlined the Sunset Strip institution and delivered a performance nothing short of breathtaking. But before she took the stage, the night belonged to opening act Roland Grant, who packed a lifetime’s worth of passion, virtuosity, and sheer musical command into a riveting thirty‑minute set that left early arrivals stunned — and hungry for far more.

Grant’s flamenco‑infused metal is a rare alchemy of precision, drama, and emotional weight, and from the first notes of his newly released Alma Inquieta opus, he and his powerhouse band seized the room with absolute authority. The Whisky crowd was instantly locked in, swept into an auditory odyssey that felt both intimate and explosive. A thrilling, high‑velocity cover of Iron Maiden’s The Trooper followed, executed with blistering flair, and then came a jaw‑dropping rendition of Yngwie Malmsteen’s Trilogy Suite — a moment that had guitar diehards in the room grinning in disbelief.

There is no question that Roland Grant stands among the most criminally underrated guitar maestros on the planet. His technique is staggering, his tone unmistakable, and his stage presence radiates a sense of purpose that few players ever achieve. Adding to the spectacle was an all‑star lineup of musicians who elevated the performance even further: Joey Aguirre (John 5) on drums, Chase Bryant (Soulfly) on bass, Bryard Huggins (Gladys Knight) on keys, and Al Velasquez (Benise, Terry Ilous) on percussion. Together, they formed a sonic battalion — tight, dynamic, and absolutely electrifying.
