Villains In Vogue at Ultimate Jam Night #152

Villains In Vogue crime scene at Ultimate Jam Night #152

Villains In Vogues, Ultimate Jam Night #152, The Whisky, May 1, 2018

Ultimate Jam Night takes places every Tuesday evening at the world famous Whisky A Go Go on the Sunset Strip in West Hollywood – and this week’s theme was a celebration of this year’s Rock N Roll Hall Of Fame inductees. In addition to the imaginative themes and world class musicians who bring Ultimate Jam Night to ultra-vivid life, the celebrated event unveils the very best in local acts who open the show. One of the up and coming bands was L.A.’s owm Villains In Vogue, taking the stage at the breakfast hour of 9PM, thoroughly entertaining the arrivals in nothing short of an epic way.

Included within the membership of Villains In Vogue is the wickedly affable Mick Scott, formerly of AñA Black and Se7en Reasons Why. Scott is a vibrantly talented, wildly unpredictable front man whose spirited vocals and sky high kicks are exciting to behold. The dual guitar assaults unleashed courtesy of Justin Sane and Matt Bachman are absolutely scorching! And what a kickass rhythm section Villains In Vogue maintains, featuring the participation of Bryan Kimes on bass and Jeffrey Shapiro on drums. These seasoned performers really know how to bring on the rock show, complete with tremendously memorable songs, a killer stage presence, and tasty licks that send it all into the stratosphere.

Kicking off their set with the mischievous refrains of Good Being Bad, Villains In Vogue clearly know how to win even the most jaded of Hollywood scenester. And the hits just kept on arriving, selections such as Bones In My Closet and their slamming cover of the Elvis Costello classic Pump It Up setting the fists raging high in the air. Another rapturous crowd favorite was Be One Of Us, inspiring a singalong from the gathered masses within the hallowed walls of The Whisky. Towards the end of the set, Mick Scott made his way upstairs and was literally singing while hanging from the rafters. Justin Sane would also visit the crowd while shredding away with a fierce sense of conviction.

Villains In Vogue recently opened for The Tubes at The Rose in Pasadena and plan to be doing a whole more live shows in the near future! Stay tuned to their Facebook page and be sure to catch Villains In Vogue they next time they arrive to invade a venue near you. Missing a live show be this massively ingenious band would truly be criminal! And of course, be sure to check out Ultimate Jam Night every Tuesday for most imaginative and inspiring rock and roll extravaganza on the planet!

Next Villains In Vogue crime scene will take place at The Study in Hollywood on May 19th!
