Disrupted Euphoria: Tales Of Solace and Atrocities

Disrupted Euphoria is sure to chill your senses with their diabolical take on the US death metal scene.  Hannah Rebel, Shadowsill, Mr. Lips, and Sparky are the Disrupted Euphoria brigade, inviting you into the world of serial killers and decapitated teddy bears – and it’s a mind blowing experience you’ll want to revisit time and again.  Let’s check in with Disrupted Euphoria guitarist Shadowsill and discover their tales of solace and atrocities…

Introduce yourself, tell me what you do in Disrupted Euphoria, and how long the band has been together.
Hello mortals, I’m Shadowsill and I play guitar in Disrupted Euphoria. We have been a band for about three and a half years now which is crazy because it doesn’t feel like it at all.

What do you think of our local Los Angeles / OC music scene, and how does Disrupted Euphoria fit into the scheme of things?
I think the O.C/L.A Metal scene has a lot of variety and equally as much talent. We have played with so many great bands such as Anti Hero, Syn Absence, Nyctophile, and many others, becoming friends with all of them in the process. The way Disrupted fits into the fold is we go well with most heavy acts. We have elements of Death Metal, Thrash Metal, and Groove Metal in our songs which leads to anyone at a Metal show can have a great time checking out a Disrupted set.

Select any two Disrupted Euphoria songs and what inspired the lyrics?
Two songs that I think lyrically will stick in people’s heads the most is The Wolf and Traitor. The Wolf is one of our numerous songs about mass murderers but this one is special because not too many people know who this guy is. Peter Stumpp is the subject matter and his story is beautifully messed up. Dating back to the 1500’s, Peter claimed to have a magical belt that was made by Satan which allowed him to transform into a wolf thus gaining the nickname The Werewolf Of Bedburg. For 25 years he would eat livestock but would eventually eat 14 children, two pregnant women including the fetuses, and a few other dudes for good measure. He and his daughter also liked to bang so the whole family is just lovely. When Peter was convicted, they found no magic belt, he and his daughter where executed by getting their skin ripped off then beheaded. Our other song Traitor is more of a personal one that Hannah (DE vocalist) wrote, it’s about a horrible ex she had and he did a lot of things he said he would never do and it really messed her up so it’s more of a hate anthem and it definitely resonates with people who have been in the same situation.

How close are you to releasing a new EP or album and is there a working title yet?
We are currently recording our first E.P, we have no release date set but we do have a title. It will be called Tales Of Solace, A Tribute To Atrocities – it’s part one if a two part conception going along with our mass murderer theme.

What could one expect from a live Disrupted Euphoria show?
Things to expect from a Disrupted show… hmmmm… Blood, hair, ringing ears, pits, and if you’re lucky you’ll get beheaded teddy bears. It’s a high energy Metal show so be ready to either move with the pit or move out of its way.

What was the experience like playing the Vans Warped Tour in Ventura and how did you feel when discovered the Warped Tour was coming to an end.
Warped Tour was the scariest honor we’ve ever had, being a little local band with a small following and being placed on the biggest tour in the nation kind of makes you feel tiny. We played last on our stage so the crowd at our stage was the biggest of the day. Once the nerves set and the teddy bears were beheaded, all the fear turned to adrenaline and it was a great show. When I heard that it was the last cross country Warped Tour I was really surprised, I didn’t go to many Warped Tours because I mainly went to Knotfest and Mayhem festivals. So I strongly considered going because I’m not sure when I would get another chance, then we got booked to play so that’s a pretty good sendoff memory for us.

What was the experience like opening for Butcher Babies and Sumo Cyco at The Whisky, and did you get to meet or hang out with them at all?
The show we played with Sumo Cyco and Butcher Babies is the best show we have ever played in my opinion. We had a great crowd and we felt very comfortable both on and off stage. Everyone on the crew that night were very helpful and patient with our sound check because there were a few mishaps. I need to thank Erik from Islander for letting me use his cabinet that night. I did get to talk to Skye from Sumo Cyco and Heidi from Butcher Babies – they both were both extremely nice and had great advice to give. Heidi and I nerded out about horror movies for a bit too.

What’s up next for Disrupted Euphoria?
Up next is a lot of waiting because this EP is slowly but surely getting done. We are also in the process of recruiting a second guitarist, no one in particular but we will be holding open auditions in the future. Other than that, keep up with our social media to see where we are raising Hell.

Any final words of wisdom?
Final words of wisdom, Babies are not dishwasher safe.
