Zoe Infante of Bittersweethearts and Aidan Amini of What Matters Most: The NAMM Show 2025 Interviews

Zoe Infante of Bittersweethearts and Aidan Amini of What Matters Most are two of the most talented, compelling vocalists on the local LA/OC music scene today.  They showed up at the Highwire Daze Booth at the same time, so I decided to do a quick dual interview with both performers.  Instead of screaming our questions and answers right in the middle of the drum section, we decided to go into The Whisper Room and conduct our interview there.  In the peace and quiet of The Whisper Room (a sound isolation booth that was a highlight of the show), we discussed NAMM and their latest single releases.  Read on…

We’re here in The Whisper Room at The NAMM Show. Introduce yourself and tell me what band you are in.
Aidan: Hi, my name is Aidan Amini. I’m the lead singer of a band called What Matters Most.

Zoe: Hi, I’m Zoe Infante and I front Bittersweethearts.

What are you both most excited about for NAMM today?
Aidan: Today was less exciting for me specifically, because I never grew up like a Dream Theater fan – but my guitar player Nimrod is the biggest John Petrucci fan in the frickkin’ world – he has like 6 of his signature guitars. And he got to meet John Petrucci – and that made my day, because the smile on that guy’s face was crazy, so I was really happy about that. I think that was my favorite part of NAMM today. But really, AEA Mics have just gotten so good. They’re a Ribbon Mic company just outside the main room here, and that’s been like my favorite technical part of NAMM – singing into one of those mics, which is so good!

Zoe: So, my answer is a lot different. Taquitos, beer, hell yeah! I came here for the food trucks. No! (Much laughter) But yeah, NAMM, it’s awesome! It’s loud, it’s bright, it’s crazy, it’s overstimulating, it’s fun – I love it! Literally any musical thing you could ever imagine is here, so it’s cool to kind of walk around – I’ll see things I’ve never even seen or heard of before – and like whoa! It’s a trip! I love it, and it’s an honor to get to be here every year. I love it!

Let’s talk about your band’s latest singles and the inspiration behind it.
Zoe: I just released a song called Mannequin on the 3rd of January. It’s been doing great. It’s a fun one. But I do have a song the promote coming out on Valentine’s Day called Electric Baby, and this one is going to be a really exciting one. It’s our last single we’re releasing before our debut EP/album thing comes out on April 1st. So be ready – it’s coming!

Aidan: We recently put out a song called Between The Lines, which is a song that is super dear to my heart. And that’s been kind of like my personal favorite out of the releases, just because I get to talk about a friend of mine who passed away, and that’s what the song is about. And I get to talk about processing those feelings – and it’s been a real long time since I even thought about processing those feelings – because typically we don’t process those feelings. So, that song has been really, really helpful for me – just having that out, and having everything I feel about that situation out and all that. But we are getting ready to announce a new release – we’re releasing a song called Off The Deep End in late March, and that’s going to be our third single we got produced by Trev Lukather. I’m really excited about that one – and that’s all I can say about that one as of right now this second – but that is coming out and it’s going to be exciting.
