July 5, 2025It was the day after the 4th of July, and even more fireworks were about to explode over at The Corbin Bowl in Tarzana. Mays Music Management is booking Bar 10 at The Corbin Bowl, securing a DJ set with Marko DeSantis of Sugarcult as well as an emo rock party with the absolutely amazing Arcade 9! In the middle of this Emopendence Day celebration was The Marvelous Acceptance from here in L.A., ready to rock the roof off The Corbin Bowl – and bringing the one and only Mia Lee along for the rip-roaring festivities.
The Marvelous Acceptance is actually doing a tour of their own entitled The Marvelous Summer Run, rocking and raging as a duo – and they received quite a rapturous response at The Corbin Bowl. Presenting a slamming amalgamation of emo, punk, and hard rock, the duo captivated the room with their wondrously memorable songs. Eric Formhals has an absolutely amazing stage presence – whether bringing the listener in with his super intensive vocals or searing away epically on guitar – this frontman definitely captures your attention with his manic energy and driven talent. And what a terrific drum performance Ben Jones unleashes, keeping the beats with a powerful amount of skill and precision. Yes, they were missing a bass player, but with songs this terrific and passions seething all over the place, it almost didn’t even seem to matter.
The cause for celebration was the release of their Dead To Me single featuring Kellin Quinn from Sleeping With Sirens infamy. And although they did not have Kellin available to sing his parts in a live setting, the massively talented Mia Lee stepped up to the occasion – and she knocked it all way out of the ballpark. Mia Lee joined The Marvelous Acceptance onstage and unleashed a dazzling and absolutely fierce performance on both vocals and lead guitar. Mia Lee has her own collection of standout solo material on Spotify, and will be playing The Whisky on July 25th opening for the legendary Agent Orange! Other amazing songs performed by The Marvelous Acceptance duo included New Boyfriend, Hold Me, and Get Me High – all available for listening on the band’s Spotify account.
Later on that night, Eric would join Marko DeSantis onstage for a rousing My Chemical Romance cover, capping off a perfect night of magic and mayhem in the San Fernando Valley. The Marvelous Summer Run rages on with dates at Taverna Costera in Las Vegas on July 13th, The Torch Club in Sacramento on July 17th, and The Salt River Music Fest in Phoenix on July 19th.
