The Infinity Project and Evisceration at Hotel Ziggy – Live Review

The Infinity Project and Evisceration, The Cobalt Presents at Hotel Ziggy, West Hollywood, CA., August 23, 2025

The Cobalt Presents has been a supporter of the Los Angeles music scene for many years – and continues to feature the very best our city has to offer at Hotel Ziggy in West Hollywood and The Corbin Bowl in Tarzana. Two bands shared the early part of the bill on a Saturday night were Evisceration and The Infinity Project – both have been making an impact on the local Los Angeles music scene, and were ready to ready to rock and rage at the trendy Hotel Ziggy on the Sunset Strip.

Evisceration

First up was Evisceration, now placing the pedal to the metal as a power trio – and what a thrashing way to kick off the night! Their set consisted mostly of covers, but man, do they play them a massive amount of skill and ferocity. Opening with Battery by Metallica, Evisceration grabbed the listeners attention at once with their dynamic musicianship. And the thrash hits kept on arriving tenfold, with Domination by Pantera and Loco by Coal Chamber blasting into the senses of the early arrivals.

One of the highlights of the set was when Evisceration presented a tribute to the legendary Ozzy Osborne with a remarkable rendition of Over The Mountain. After their thrilling salute to the Prince of Darkness, Evisceration went on unveil an impressive original song entitled Boots – here’s hoping they record this one soon and add even more self-penned selections to their set.

As a three-piece, Evisceration rock it hard and heavy, featuring the participation of Beckett Seals on vocals and bass, David Gomez on guitar, and Damien Capper on drums. Outstanding performances from all three members! Closing out with the one-two punch in the cranium of Refuse/Resist by Sepultura and Dead by Napalm Death, Evisceration slammed it into the stratosphere with their exhilarating take on classic thrash tunes. Can’t wait to hear what Evisceration has in store for us in these future metal days…

The Infinity Project

The Infinity Project was up next, this massively talented four piece presenting their own dynamic amalgamation of modern metal and emo. And what a vast and varied collection of covers this young band unleashed, starting with Two Weeks by All That Remains and then merging into The Sharpest Lives by My Chemical Romance. Those two titles inform you right there just how wildly diverse and wondrously entertaining The Infinity Project experience was going to be.

And what an amazing set The Infinity Project curated for the Hotel Ziggy attendees, featuring songs from iconic bands such as Avenged Sevenfold, Trivium, Pierce The Veil, and Bullet For My Valentine. The Infinity Project would present an original entitled Sever in the middle of the set, and what a fantastic new song this one was! As with Evisceration, it would be thrilling to hear even more original songs added to the set!

Preston Haynes is a tremendously charismatic frontman with talent galore – whether it’s the supremely emotional vocals or brilliant guitar artistry, Preston displays a ton of heart and conviction within his live performance. Guitarist Boone Vienna is force of talent and energy – presenting his own intriguing axe work to the proceedings. And driving it all home is the blistering rhythm section team of bassist Colt Alvarado and drummer Caleb Wood.

In Conclusion

The Infinity Project and Evisceration are clearly among the next generation of bands more than ready to make an impact here in the City of Angels and beyond. It has been so exciting to follow their respective journeys – now joined together for one memorable night courtesy of The Cobalt Presents! I’m definitely looking forward to seeing what the future has in store for both these up-and-coming bands on the rise!
