From the war-ravaged land of Ukraine emerges Selvnatt, the haunting creation of Nocturnal One — a sonic force poised to tantalize the senses and ignite the imagination. Where lo-fi black metal collides with wickedly dark romanticism, Selvnatt lurks in the shadows, conjuring a sound both raw and transcendent. Empty Life marks the project’s stunning debut, now unleashed worldwide via the Artchestra compound.

Opening with the blistering title track and bleeding into the poignant extremities of Wounded, Selvnatt draws the listener into a realm of wonder and intrigue. Cursed Souls is dramatic and grim, elevated by a guest appearance from Andrii Pechatkin of White Ward and Waidelotte. Wistful sustains the shimmering bleakness, followed by the desolate yet unsettling piano interlude Through Eternity. The journey concludes — all too soon — with Pale Stars featuring co-conspirator Felvum, a final reverberation stabbing deep into the infinite void.

Empty Life wears its blackened heart on its sleeve, unleashing lushly primitive soundscapes that invite you to drown your everlasting sorrows throughout its auditory reprieves. A deeply personal endeavor, it’s a release destined to enrapture adventurous music fans and those grappling with unrequited love, untimely death, and the anguish that festers from within.
