ThxSoMch, re6ce – The Regent Theater, Los Angeles, CA – October 2, 2025
Toronto-based punk provocateur ThxSoMch is currently tearing through North America on his headlining tour in support of The Sound Of You Laughing, his freshly released full-length on Atlantic Records.
Riding shotgun for this cross-country catharsis is rising UK artist Reece Downs — better known as re6ce — in the direct support slot. Performing at the opulent Regent Theater in the heart of Downtown LA, both artists were poised to leave a lasting mark on the City of Angels.

Taking the stage just before the main event, re6ce arrived armed with a guitar, backing tracks, and a super-infectious arsenal of emotionally raw songs. If his striking appearance — sheer gothic/emo flair with an explosion of facial piercings — doesn’t grab your attention, the pulsating heart and high-intensity beats surely will.
Opening with psyilocibin mind, re6ce dove straight into the deep end. The track’s sense of urgency and sonic dissonance set the tone for a short yet captivating set. I Don’t Wanna Do This Anymore and Zombie followed, packed with conviction and drive, reverberating through the cavernous Regent auditorium like a call to arms for the emotionally bruised and beautifully defiant.
Toward the end, re6ce delivered the standout teeth (you), a midtempo anthem whose refrain — “I swear I’ll be alright” — rang out like a promise to every soul in the room. From Liverpool to LA, re6ce made the journey count, winning over a legion of new fans with his vulnerability, charisma, and genre-blurring sound.

Imagine Iggy Pop fronting My Chemical Romance — and you’re only beginning to grasp what ThxSoMch brings to the stage. Despite battling the flu, he powered through with a “show must go on” mentality, delivering a performance that was equal parts swagger, chaos, and catharsis.
“This is the most people I’ve ever played for as a headliner,” he remarked, visibly moved. What followed was a sonic blitzkrieg: opening with the powerhouse When The Devil Speaks, then slamming into the spiraling inflections of Keep It To Yourself, ThxSoMch raged through an unforgettable set with his band locked in and ready to detonate.
Hate… surged with psychotic punk adrenaline, while Would You? — with its chilling “I just killed your friend” lyric — tore through the crowd like a razor. The setlist leaned heavily on The Sound Of You Laughing, with Awfully Sad and Everyone Dies In A Costume leaving deep emotional bruises in the best way possible. Mosh pits erupted, fans screamed every word, and The Regent became a pressure cooker of angst and release.

ThxSoMch
With this devastating performance, ThxSoMch’s ascent is undeniable. His cathartic songwriting and genre-defying sound are poised to explode across the globe, dragging a new generation of post-punk and emo revivalists along for the ride. And re6ce? He’s right there with him — a UK export with the heart, hooks, and aesthetic to command any stage.
Here’s hoping both artists return to LA soon. And hey — Kevin Lyman, Vans Warped Tour — take note. These two are the future. Book them now, before the underground becomes the main stage.
