The release follows Woolsey’s recent singles “Chevy Chase” and “Cigarettes & Alcohol,” offering another glimpse into a deeply personal new chapter for the songwriter.
“Bennet says, “’Spirit Wine’ paints the story of a relationship tangled in substance abuse, manipulation, and above all, an addiction to each other.”
For Woolsey, songwriting is a way of making sense of the experiences that shape us. Originally from Texas and now splitting his time between Nashville and Los Angeles, he has built a life around curiosity, adventure, and embracing the unknown. From traveling across the country and living out of a camper to chasing new experiences and writing in the quiet hours of the morning, Woolsey uses songwriting as a personal journal—capturing the moments, relationships, and lessons that stay with us.
His forthcoming EP is his most personal work to date, exploring nostalgia, relationships, independence, and self-discovery. The collection focuses on the often-overlooked moments that define early adulthood: goodbyes, growing pains, first loves, long-distance relationships, heartbreak, and the realization that life keeps moving whether you’re ready for it or not.
A self-described songwriter first, Woolsey wrote every song on the project himself, drawing directly from personal experiences and moments of reflection. While collaborating with producers to develop the music sonically, he has kept the writing rooted in the details of his own life, transforming specific seasons and experiences into songs that feel both personal and relatable.
Woolsey previously served as the frontman of indie rock band Brookside, helping lead the group’s viral breakout single “Jimmy the Chameleon,” which has amassed more than 12 million streams. He most recently teamed up with rising artist Maryjo on the breakup duet “Used to You.” Now stepping further into his identity as a solo artist, Woolsey continues to carve out his own lane, blending heartfelt storytelling with modern Americana and indie influences.
In support of his new music, Woolsey is currently touring across North America with Maryjo. Full tour dates are below.
