FACELIFT RESSURRECT CALL OF DUTY ZOMBIES’ “115” WITH EXPLOSIVE METALCORE COVER

The Las Vegas metalcore duo breathe new life into the cult-favorite Zombies track as part of their self-titled debut EP, out now via Roux & Ruin Records.

For an entire generation of Call of Duty Zombies players, “115” became more than a hidden song. It was the soundtrack to countless battles against the undead and an unexpected introduction to heavy music. Now, Las Vegas metalcore duo FaceLift resurrect the cult-favorite track with an intense modern metalcore reinterpretation, featured on their self-titled debut EP, FaceLift, available now via Roux & Ruin Records.

This debut EP captures a band finding its identity through some of the circumstances that could have stopped it entirely. Across the EP, vocalist David Tomlin and multi-instrumentalist Tommy Bradley pull from perseverance, loss, betrayal and hatred, turning those experiences into a release centered on one overriding idea: refusing to quit.

Originally written by Kevin Sherwood and performed by Elena Siegman, “115” first appeared in Call of Duty: Black Ops Zombies on the iconic Kino der Toten map. Activated by locating three hidden meteorite fragments, the song became one of the franchise’s most recognizable musical Easter eggs, bridging the worlds of gaming and heavy music.

“For a lot of people, Call of Duty Zombies was their introduction to heavy music without them even realizing it,” the band explains. “You’d be fighting for your life in Kino der Toten and suddenly this insane metal track would start playing. We wanted to capture that same feeling while putting our own spin on a song that means so much to the Zombies community.”

In May 2025, vocalist David Tomlin relocated from Los Angeles to Las Vegas after stepping away from music entirely, exhausted by years of chasing a breakthrough. Just months later, multi-instrumentalist Tommy Bradley reached out from San Diego with a proposition: if he packed up his life and moved to Vegas too, would David consider starting a band with him? That conversation sparked FaceLift. Within approximately one day of writing together, the pair had already created three songs and brought their material into the studio, transforming an unexpected second chance into a new musical identity.

“A lot of the songs were born out of times of being unable to quit and having that hunger to succeed against all odds,” the band shares. “We want listeners to find that same sense of perseverance throughout the release.”

That determination sits at the heart of their self-titled debut EP, which explores perseverance, loss, betrayal, and rebirth through a dark, gritty, and raw approach to modern metalcore.

Recorded at Nevermore with production from Josh Bearden of Ov Sulfur, the project incorporates unexpected genre influences, explosive breakdowns, and technically driven guitar work.

With their cover of “115,” FaceLift extend the creative identity beyond traditional metalcore audiences, connecting with the gaming community that helped transform the original into a lasting cultural favorite.

For longtime Zombies fans, the track offers a nostalgic return to Kino der Toten. For new listeners, it provides an introduction to one of gaming’s most memorable heavy-music moments, reimagined through the sound of an emerging metalcore duo.

FaceLift’s self-titled debut EP, featuring their cover of “115,” is available now.
