The CD was produced by Cory Spotts, who has worked with many of todayโ€™s top acts including Greeley Estates, Job For A Cowboy, and Blessthefall. Here is an interview we conducted with one of the Fashion Vice members to find out more about this tremendous up and coming bandโ€ฆ

Editor’s Note in 2020: She Has A Fashion Vice would eventually release three EP’s before disbanding in 2014 .ย  They would do a one-off reunion show in 2017. All three of their EP’s are now up and available to hear on Spotify.ย  Nate and Stan are now in a band called Preacher.ย  Here is an interview I did with guitarist Chris Yancey in 2010…

Introduce yourself, tell me what you do in She Has A Fashion Vice, and how long the band has been together.
Hello, my name is Chris Yancey and I play guitar in the band. The band has been together since August of 08โ€ฒ

What is the music scene like in Reno and are there very many places to play?
The music scene in Reno, sadly is rather small. There are only 1 or 2 places bands can set up shows

Who came up with the band name She Has A Fashion Vice?
Our former drummer Andrew came up with the name.

What inspired you to write some of the lyrics on Stop Talking, Start Sweating. Pick two songs in particular and tell me what the lyrics are about.
As far as inspiration goes, we just really wanted to write lyrics that move people and inspire them to want to change the harsh times around us. One song in particular is Stop Talking Start Sweating because the song is about no matter how hard or how tough times get we will ultimately push through in the end. A second song I would choose with a good message is Foghorn Leghorn because the lyrics scream the essence of how fed up we are with our surroundings and how far we will go to change it.

What did producer Cory Spotts contribute to the overall recording of the CD?
Cory Spotts contributed in helping us make this record sound the way we wanted it to represent us. Recording with him was a real pleasure.

How did you wind up on Static Age Records?
We met the owner of Static Age Records on Facebook early this year. We got to know him better on the phone discussing future plans and after a little negotiating we inked a contract with Static Age Records.

What could one expect from a live She Has A Fashion Vice show?
We really like to focus on just having as much fun as we can on stage and fun to us is rocking out, guitar throws, running, jumpingโ€ฆwhatever it may be. So Iโ€™d say one could expect a lot of energy and excitement from our live show.

Have you ever played in the Los Angeles area or plan to do so in the future?
We have not played in the LA area yet. Yeah, we have a tour planned that passes through the LA area and we are really excited to be getting on the road.

Who are some of the bigger bands you have opened for and what was the experience like?
Some bigger bands weโ€™ve got to open for are Underoath, Attack! Attack!, The Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, Blessthefall and Between the Buried and Me. Each experience was awesome. It went from listening to Theyโ€™re Only Chasing Safety everday from 7th-10th grade and then getting to play with Underoath.

Which member of the band could be accused of having a Fashion Vice and why?
Our guitar player Alex has a fashion vice because he loves Vans. He has all sorts of styles and colors and wears them all the time. I think he might sleep with them on too!

Any strange or unusual Myspace or online stories you could share?
Well sorta, a person contacted us from Japan looking to buy our first EP. We didnt have any means or distribution at the time so we completely dropped the ball with this. More than a year later and another EP later he contacts us looking to buy CDโ€™s again in bulk. but thanks to Static Age we were able to finally get him CDโ€™s in bulk!

What is it youโ€™d like a listener to remember the most after hearing your music for the first time?
Well if its the first time you are listening, remember to listen again!!!

Any final words of wisdom?
Praise the Metal Gods!
