The Intemperate Sons, We Are The Black Things, The Infinity Project at The Whisky – Live Review
The Intemperate Sons, We Are The Black Things, The Infinity Project, The Whisky, West Hollywood, CA., November 13, 2024
Tantric headlined The Whisky on the Sunset Strip for a Wednesday night show, presenting a set list from an impressive career in music. The support acts would also capture the attention of the early arrivals. In this review, we’ll focus on three very different but exciting bands that you’re destined to hear a lot more about in the New Year and beyond.
The Infinity Project
Performing early on in the evening was The Infinity Project, kicking the night off with a thunderous blast of rock and roll. With an average age of just 15 years old, these youngsters exhibit a talent and drive well beyond their years. At this point, their setlist mostly consists of covers, ranging from bands such as Avenged Sevenfold, Judas Priest, and Ozzy Osborne – and The Infinity Project unleash them all exceedingly well! The Infinity Project recently issued their debut original single cleverly titled The First One, and it was definitely a highlight to see what the band has to offer on their very own terms.
The amazing The Infinity Project lineup consists of Preston Haynes (singer/guitarist/bassist), Boone Vienna (guitarist/bassist), David Gomez (guitarist/bassist), and Caleb Wood (drummer). It will be very exciting to see what the future has in store for this rock and raging band on the rise. Stay tuned…

We Are The Black Things
We Are The Black Thing is one of the most epically underrated bands on the local Los Angeles music scene. Formerly known as Raven’s Cry, band founder Tone Raven and his co-conspirators present rock and roll with a ton of imagination and intrigue. If George Lynch and David Lynch had a meeting of minds and formed a Hollywood rock band, the spawn would definitely be something as brilliant and compelling as We Are The Black Things. Playing a semi-acoustic set on this very special night, We Are The Black Things opened with a selection of songs from their current Down In Wuhan manifesto.
The artistry was absolutely off the charts and into the stratosphere, with Tone Raven delivering the intriguing lyrics and ripping acoustic guitar tapestries with a thrilling sense of passion and conviction. And joining in on the glorious mayhem were Luthario Mitcho on turntable, Rae Owl Starling on keyboards, Frank Garrett on bass, and Carrie Cane on drums. Be sure to catch We Are The Black Things at their next Whisky show on December 13th opening for Julien K!

The Intemperate Sons
The Intemperate Sons were the perfect support act for Tantric. Visiting the Sunset Strip all the way from their Dallas, TX homebase, The Intemperate Sons rocked The Whisky with an absolutely blistering set of auditory entreaties. Fans of acts such as Alice In Chains, Stone Temple Pilots, and even Tantric are sure to discover a brand-new favorite band when checking into what The Intemperate Sons has to offer the world at large.
Consisting of family members Keith Watson (drums), Jake Watson (guitars) and Max Watson (vocals, guitars, keys) along with close friend Mark Marks on a very groovy bass – this Lone Star State quartet really rocked it out here in the City of Angels! With superbly memorable songs and the stage presence to back it all up, it won’t be long until The Intemperate Sons explode into the big time! Hope to see this band back on the Sunset Strip soon!
