We Owe You Nothing is the eighth infernal magnum opus by Italian black metal band Forgotten Tomb, a collection of six epic sonnets of depressive madness and intrigue. A thrilling work of dark and doom-laden art to be sure, We Owe You Nothing is a triumphant testament of strength and perseverance, even if all the songs sound as if they are emitting from the depths of one’s own personal hell.

The album possesses a powerful sense of urgency, and this could be due to the fact that singer/guitarist Ferdinando “Herr Morbid” Marchisio was involved in a life-threatening car accident that left him unable to play for months. Each and every chapter of the Forgotten Tomb legacy has screamed with feral passions seething, and We Owe You Nothing certainly adds fuel to the flames of their stunning catalog of fascination and torment.

From the diabolic opening title track, to the penetrating refrains of Second Chances and well beyond, the bitter intensity will devastate the senses of all adventurous extreme metal fans. The auditory soundscapes are foreboding yet wickedly seductive, and the lead vocals grind into your soul with a dazzling sense of ferocity.  Oncoming slices of depravity such as Saboteur, Abandon Everything, and Longing For Decay keep the listener absolutely invested into the vast and imaginative chamber of horrors that is We Owe You Nothing!

The individuals responsible for this spiteful brand of artistic malevolence are the aforementioned Ferdinando “Herr Morbid” Marchisio on vocals and guitars, Alessandro “Algol” Comerio on bass, and Kyoo Nam “Asher” Rossi on drums. By the time you arrive at the concluding abstractions of Black Overture, the instrumental manifesto leaves the listener absolutely captivated and ready to take on (or submit to) any soul destroying beasts either real or imagined.

We Owe You Nothing is a majestic journey through utter pain and sonic desolation and it’s destined to ultimately enlighten all who wrap themselves within the six vibrant nightmares presented within. Imagine the member of Joy Division fucking the spawn of the almighty Behemoth and you are only beginning to envision the aural pleasures and punishing reveries of the Forgotten Tomb!
